Heavenly Marches
At first glans it looks dead. Surreal! But!
For birds, frogs and mosquitoes there is a Heaven. Eating each other is not war or fear, Nature makes this perfectly balanced.
I am in love with colors and everyday changes. Even with rare snakes, being told that they are not dangerous.
I can write you much more about.....
The exact time you realize you are just a dot in cosmos. Look at that light and know how beautiful the world really is.
From the center of the old bridge looking towards the castle side is my favorite view of the Neckar it was especially nice with the sun rising as it was that morning.
This brings up a good point sacrificing some sleep to get out before the hordes is the best favor you can do yourself when traveling, if you are a photographer it makes the difference between a shot worth keeping or not.

Pittosporum Japonica Gold Star
Tiny, beautifully scented little flowers with a perfume which seems to get stronger when the sun has gone down. I guess in its native environment these shrubs would grow into small trees, but here they are not natively hardy and have to be over wintered with care. This is a small shrub in a pot and the flowers are so small and tucked away my wife has to locate them for me, and even then through my 20x magnifier I still can't find them so she had to keep her finger right next to this one!
Taken at almost max magnification, then in apsc mode for another 50%, and with a crop.

You can see 4 of the 6 remaining monasteries in this picture.
The monastery complex of Meteora, Greece, sits thousands of feet above the ground, making it one of the most remote places to live and worship in the world.
While 30 monasteries were built over the centuries, today only six remain active.
Please press "L" and zoom to appreciate the immensity.

One of the few places I was able to fly my drone. This view shows the marina, the old Courthouse, and the large Banyan Tree which covers the park in back.
Big tourist destination. And a beautiful little village with lots of history.
From the Lahaina Town website:
In 1802, King Kamehameha made Lahaina the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom. He built a brick palace there, along with residences and other royal buildings, and Lahaina served as the center of the Hawaiian government for over 50 years, until permanently relocating to Honolulu for its harbor.
