The red kimono was one of the first ones I made; it's extremely pretty fabric, but simple, and pairs well with various over-layer kimono (uchikake).

The beautiful mask is made by my friend Follow the Wind (here on Flikr) made the lovely mask.

It makes both a cute hair accessory, and a lovely mask.

The wisteria is made of silk; handmade and hand dyed by me. We fold it one petal at a time.

Willow is holding a custom 11 cm paper lantern which reads "Hyakiyako" (百鬼夜行)

This kimono is deceptively simple on the top and sleeves, but from behind you can see this kimono is exquisitely painted. We were happy to buy it and put it together to be worn for years by various 1/3 dolls...

Anyway, who do you think wore it best?

Leaves are red momiji~ lovely again.

...I forgot to upload these here.

Except for the one on the right, made by me.

Navy: for YouplaDolls

Red: for Ruan (Souldoll Kid, old body)

Cream-and-green: slim MSD hikizuri (can fit multiple because made a little big...)

Handmade kanzashi for a 1/6th size fahsion doll, Momoko.

The bigger kanzashi are for the owner...

the details on the silk are pretty, don't you think? Kimono are all hand painted, too, though the ones with repeating motifs like this use this kind of thin wooden stencil to get the outline, and then a series of resists to change colors, etc. It's really labor intensive, so I think upcycling vintage kimono silk is really worth it.

They're pretty in kimono! I like the playful short length too, but what's your fav?

小さなツルはかわいいよね。

This kimono was originally a homongi kimono, so there was not that much pattern to remake into doll kimono, but enough for another beautiful one~ we put the cranes in the front too... do you like it?

Sorry, sorry, between the author of the dolls and the painter who made this amazing starry faceup, I can't help but be a little whimsical with the title...

Handmade silk kimono for doll

I made this black kimono and light blue haori set for a kind customer. Some machine sewing, but about half sewn by hand.

We made this out of roh kimono, but it's fully lined so the black won't get on any resin.

Tomu is beautiful in kimono; very serene and elegant....

makes me wonder if they're ploting something.

...this is for those days when I don't feel so cute... it kind of says, stay back...don't mess with this girl. She's poison! LOL!

:oD

Hand painted the silver masks and lower metal metallic gold. Added the gold chain and built the earrings by attaching gold findings. Painted the white balls with purple glitter enamel.

Silk that I dyed to a few shades of pink...and wired onto armatures to be kanzashi, traditional hair ornaments for Maiko or others in kimono. ♥

handmade by me! Hand dyed too.

Doug: What?

Bob: Donuts - I told you to get me donuts! Either on the ninth day or the tenth day, or the eleventh day, I wanted donuts!

Doug: Okay, the song's over.

Bob: Or on the twelfth day, you coulda got me a dozen donuts. You coulda gone down to, like, the good donut shop, where if you buy a dozen, you get another one

free, and then thirteen for the thirteen days of Christmas.

Doug: Well, next Christmas, I'll get me a chainsaw...

Bob: Take off!

Doug: Boy, that song was a beauty. It moved me...

Bob: Yeah, I think it ranks up there with Stairway to Heaven...

Doug: Wha-? (and the music fades)

12 Days of Christmas: Day 9/12 (Yes the song jumps from day 8 to 12 skipping 9, 10, & 11)

The silk has a common motif called 麻の葉 asa no ha, and it is a traditional design, with an addition of flowers.

The little doll was a gift from a friend. ♥ They're second-hand and very, very cute...so cute I may or may not have ordered a bigger one from Lati immediately after...

Getting my fall crafting on. Nails are painted with OPI polish.

:)

Heena in red kimono with lavender accents.

I made the kimono for a custom order, technically for Feeple65, who has a bit larger chest than my Heena, but similar other proportions.

Heena is wearing it like Furisode rather than like Uchikake this time, so you can see the details of the pattern of the over-kimono (uchikake), which are quite lovely.

An in progress 1/4 size crown and Quetzal... she may need to have her own size tho, that is looking a little overwhelming.

"The view must be nice from there," the crane says.

Sai is a Lati white doll, 9.5cm tall.

The crane is handmade by me, 22cm wingspan. I was making the crane one weekend and realized they were much bigger than my tiniest doll...and so...

This wig is a soy wig I got from Frapzilla. :)

Lovely soft fiber, do like.

Real size felt toy cake I´ve made to my children.

Rin looks so cute against the starlight pattern. ♥

I made the flowers in Rin's hair... the little flowers are about 1cm each, handdyed silk. The art is called "tsumami zaiku" and it is from folding tiny squares like origami. It's a Japanese technique, also called "kanzashi" in English.

Xiao Yu put their hair up...

Handmade black kimono. I was experimenting with a different way to sew kimono-- no seam under the bust, but uncut silk across the shoulder. Interesting effect!

Vintage kimono fabric. The obi is tied shibori sash, usually done for younger children's obi, but recently popular for adults as well. ♥
