These are some of the smaller kanzashi I make...originally designed for 1/6th or 1/8th size dolls (fashion or tiny BJD), but I wanted to see how they'd look on a 1/4th BJD.
Lovely Chrysanthemum, a Skyland Doll BJD in 1/5 scale~ a really cute tiny doll who's got expressive hands and a sweet face.
This faceplate I painted myself~
The hairpin is nanohana; canola blossoms. Handdyed and sweet flowers tat go well with spring colors. We love dying these.
Kimono made by me.
Ceramics and treats made by hd dolls ceramics on instagram.
Percy, looking uncharacteristically calm and collected.
The kanzashi is handmade, made of vintage kimono silk. So is the kimono, but the obi is made of cotton.
Handmade yuzen kimono over-robe (called uchikake), and roh under-kimono made especially to be knee length.
Geta are made by Kilik the Fox on Instagram.
The kimono is brilliant vermilion, dark green, and all hand painted by a traditional kimono artist.
The leaf kanzashi (hairpin) is hand dyed silk.
I made the kimono from the vintage kimono silk into doll kimono. ^o^
A reminder that our kimono are made of vintage kimono silk (or in this case, used kimono, not necessarily vintage.)
Some gold fleck has come off: it's natural since the kimono making process is essentially organic glue and gold fleck, and people move a lot in their clothes.
The motif on this vintage wedding kimono is beautiful; cranes with sakura and gold waves on the bottom.
The white plum blossom kanzashi goes very well because cranes are winter motifs, and plum blossoms are late winter /early spring motifs.
...I actually haven't designed something for Emery yet, this was originally made for a bigger 1/3rd size doll. it was the second one I made, so I think it fits the smaller 1/3rd better. ♥
Orange Sakura and Plum Blossoms: Custom Kimono Set
Hikuzuri & Nagajyuban made for the old(er) Lune Body (LilyCat 57.5cm tall (20cm circumference head, wig size 7-8")
Sage is wearing a lovely kimono, made from synthetic fabric yuzen, one of my new kimono.
Chrysanthemum is wearing a silk yuzen kimono. It's lovely~
We bought some vintage kimono fabric that was too old to dye in the traditional, painstaking methods, so we got it at vintage prices...and decided to dye it in a beautiful mint with rainbow accents!
This is another take on my wedding design for sakura...there's seven lucky sakura, and long trail of petals with just a touch of pink at the bottom. This one is a grand design, 10" (25cm) long.
Because Percy looked so very heian princess like, sitting with their uchikake trailing behind them, I wanted to try heian-princess length hair...looks cute.
My 38 cm (1/4th doll) models my hand sewn Shibori and orange kimono set.
Don't be fooled, actual Heian style kimono have many more layers. 😁
Holding this wool brings back memories of Elf Land. I can almost smell the bay mists and the redwoods. It makes me want to dance a jig and hoot for joy. I’m sure where ever it goes it will spark similar wonder and blessings for those who witness it!

Lovely little Indigo is a cute tiny doll. Enkiri is a bigger cousin! (Or sibling??) Looking super cute.
The white-haired doll is an Iplehosue JID Sleeping Amy, on a KID body. For comparison, brought out my Miyabi (Iplehouse KID Lonnie), so you can see there is a size difference in their faces, but with the right positioning, looks alright...am experimenting with a few possibilities for an older Tomu, but still thinking about it.
Handmade kimono set, handmade kanzashi.
Iplehouse faceups.
