PRR N5C Caboose 477863 brings up the markers on the SNJX Ballast Train as it passed through Riverside.. Match 24, 2017.
CSX Q410-14 cruises eastbound under the former Reading catenary at Penndel, PA as they continue east along the Trenton Sub, led by the First Responders and Law Enforcement locomotives, CSX 911 and 3194. This train has brought fanfare from railfans, civilians and first responders alike.

An westbound eastbound out of Rapid City, SD, bound for Huron, makes its way past the Wasta Sand Plant. The original plan here was to shoot a nice wide angle with the Cheyenne River in the background, but the shadows beat the train, and I ended up with this nice tele-veritical crop instead.
I spent a week in Rapid City on vacation with the family; glancing at the RCPE yard there on a daily basis, I was pleased that all of the power I saw (12-15 locomotives, I think) was still all blue and yellow.
Big tip of the hat to Emily for tucking in the boys that night; was awesome chasing this train into Wall.

EN: Freighttrain 61154 was well audible more than half an hour before. But suddenly the noise was cut. Silence, nothing to hear! The train was stopped in Perušić station for crossing an very late running IC train in opposite direction. After that crossing the noise of the two 2062 swelled on and some minutes later the train passed the level crossing at Sv Marko.
DE: Den Güterzug 61154 hörten wir wohl schon eine halbe Stunde vorher. Aber plötzlich riss der Motorsound der hart arbeitenden Maschinen ab und es herrschte Stille! Der Zug stand offenbar in Perušić in der Ausweiche, um einen stark verspäteten IC in der Gegenrichtung durch zu lassen. Danach schwoll der Sound wieder donnernd an und bald pasierte der Zug die kleine Siedlung Sv Marko.
CN 401 with clean C40-8 CN 2025 leading is passing through a short tunnel on CN's Montreal sub in Montreal West. Soon a Mammoet crane will remove the roof from this tunnel, which will be demolished.
An eastbound Union Pacific train climbs the hill east of Arlington, NE on the first day of 2024. This view would've been pretty well obscured by trees until Union Pacific completed grade work for a second main track over a decade ago, which has obviously never been built. I've always meant to get a shot here since then, and I'm glad things finally came together to check it off the list.
Fourty minutes after shooting the Lackawanna heritage unit leading CN 529, I am high up on a snowbank to photograph CP 7018 leading CPKC 2114 as it approaches Lachine IMS Yard.
Eastbound trains - the nearest one with five locos - pass at Crowsnest before continuing the steep climb. The train on the right awaits a fresh crew. 14th May 2025.

Volviendo a la foto; esperabamos en Vilches Carlos y yo al Comsa La Negrilla - El Espartal. Rezabamos por que no trajera la 102, pero de poco sirvio. Aun asi, una buena tarde de trenes, como no, gracias a la compañia de Carlos.

Grand Rapids-Elkhart freight 37E has just met its northbound counterpart 36E at Three Rivers and is seen here continuing south toward Indiana. 36E and 37E were dubbed "The Granny" by NS crews, due to the numerous slow orders that littered the line north of Kalamazoo.

It is quite the time for not one, but two of Illinois Central’s last four GP40R’s remaining in their Deathstar scheme to be in Memphis at the same time. One would do anything to see 3107 & 3108 together, but for now, it’s still a treat to see them consecutively working the same assignment one after the other.
