Shot from the overpass just off US 31W in the late afternoon. Only shot I've ever taken here despite going past it for the past two decades.

Aurizon Class ACD No.6057 and Class GWU No. 015 finally ‘get the road’ and restart their westbound container train. Judging by the state of the assisting loco, I suspect 6057 is quite new/recently delivered. The reason westbound trains have to wait when the ‘Indian Pacific’ is refuelling, is that the fuel hoses have to be run over all the tracks. When I suggested to the Operations Manager that they would surely be better off putting the IP on the other road, he went in to some sort of meltdown, I know not why!
Of note behind the locomotives are two tanker wagons and a passenger coach. The tankers are so that they don't have to stop for fuel; they refuel on the move! The coach is for carrying relief drivers. All very self contained 😀

CMQ 2002 crosses the bridge in Thomaston, the first of many on the Rockland Branch, on a dreary morning. This is in stark contrast to the previous day when they were supposed the run when the sun was shinning and the tide was in. The rain and clouds would eventually give way to mostly clear skies and a nice sunny chase on the way back.

This new overpass at Kent, MN has been in place for a while, but this is my first chance to get a picture of a train from it. Fortunately, this southbound crude oil train had to wait for a meet at Wolverton, allowing the sun to rise far enough through the smokey haze and provide decent light to the scene.
NYC-themed rebuilds continue their eastward movement towards Syracuse on our trip. He has 23 cars bound for interchange at Solvay Yard on this fine spring day.
The turn to Bowling Green has a flared SD70MAC leading as it rolls down the #2 Main at Lebanon Junction. Welders were working on the #1 somewhere which meant the southbounds were on the preferred track(in my opinion) for photos.
