Im Spätsommer ging es nach Libun, dort sollte mal der Anschlussbahn ein Besuch abgestattet werden. An diesem Tag war die 742 170 für die Bedienung der Sandgrube eingeteilt. Mit dem ersten Teil konnte die Lok dann in der Morgensonne festgehalten werden.
Die IGL kam mit einem sehr langen Schotterzug aus der Kopalnia Piława Górna in den Bahnhof nach Gleis 1 eingefahren und es mußte noch fast auf den Bahnübergang vorgezogen werden.
Für M62-1556 an der Spitze und TEM2-145 sollte es erst nach dem Personenverkehr eine halbe Stunde später weitergehen.

CSX intermodal train Q272 rips through Woodbourne, PA. The speed caught me a bit off guard, but created a bit of an unintended pan shot, which worked well.
En of het gelukt het is? Zelfs met gemak kon ik vanuit Gemeldorp de staaltrein naar La Louvière inhalen.
Ik heb zelfs nog tijd gehad om naar een goed standpunt te zoeken, want eerst stond ik op de plek aan het onderstation waar Wouter ook als eens gestaan heeft. Deze was echter moeilijk omzetbaar zonder ladder of hoogstatief, waardoor ik wat verder langs lijn 96/1 wou gaan kijken.
Daar gaat namelijk de Chemin du Baudriquin met een brug over dit verbindingsspoor tussen lijnen 96 en 117. Eerst wou ik er geraken via Braine-le-Comte maar dat is niet meer mogelijk omdat de overweg aan lijn 117 gewoonweg afgeschaft is en de straat vanuit Braine-le-Comte dus gewoon doodloopt.
Van aan de andere zijde loopt die straat natuurlijk ook gewoon dood, maar zo was de brug wel te bereiken.
En ondanks al dat gerij, was ik nog meer dan op tijd genoeg.

Once again you can see the steel train from Ghent to La Louvière on the sunny morning of the 28th of September 2023.
It's quite easy to catch up this train. By car one takes the direct route from Geraardsbergen over Enghien to Soignies/Braine-le-Comte. The train does a great detour over Ath and Jurbise and so I had still some minutes left to find the wright corner for a second picture.
And that corner I found on the railway line that connects railway line 96 (Quévy - Brussels) with line 117 (Braine-le-Comte - Luttre). It's clear that this connecting line was double track in former times. Nowadays it is only used by freight trains, so one has to know a train is coming, otherwise you can wait quite long to make a photo.

Während einer Sperrphase der Hochfelder Rheinbrücke querte der "China-Shuttle" den Rhein über die famose Haus-Knipp-Brücke bei Duisburg-Beeckerwerth, um nach Rheinhausen zu gelangen. Befördert wurde er wie immer von einer Vectron-Maschine der PKP (193 503).

On their first run after the 2012 Heritage Units get together in Spencer, Norfolk Southern 8025, the Monongahela Railway unit, on point of 50Z, a unit grain train heading for Amick Farms in Monetta, South Carolina. Here, a new crew gets on board for the remainder of the trip down the R Line. Also on the train is NS 8114 and 1030. The train is stopped just short of Pickney Street in Columbia, South Carolina.

Die 6447 der Niederländischen Eisenbahn hatte am 22. Mai 1992 die Aufgabe einen kurzen Güterzug von Onnen nach Delfzijl zu bringen. Im Bild hat sie gerade Groningen hinter sich gelassen.
Lok 6447 reed op 22 mei 1992 met een korte goederentrein van Onnen naar Delfzijl en is op de foto net het van Starkenborgh-kanaal bij Groningen overgestoken.
Dutch engine 6447 was tasked with bringing a short freight train from Onnen to Delfzijl on May 22nd 1992 and is seen here just east of Groningen.
Ex-GMTX CN 4903 & CN 4115 lead a transfer into the Port of Montreal. The water level at the eastern end of the Lachine Canal is quite high.

Dopo l'ennesima battuta terminata ieri con alterne fortune ad una delle prede più difficili ed imprevedibili da catturare, non avendo ancora nemmeno scaricato le foto, vi propongo il bottino, stavolta quasi casuale essendo in zona per altri motivi, della prima spedizione di quest'anno.

Een kwartiertje na de IC richting Tongeren en dus achter de lokaaltrein richting Hasselt, kregen we de eerste goederentrein van de dag voor de lens. Jammer genoeg was ondertussen de zon achter de wolken verdwenen en het leek er ook niet echt op dat die direct zou terugkomen - bij het checken van de weerradar bleken er alleen meer wolken vanuit het westen te komen alhoewel er nog steeds werd van uit gegaan dat er toch nog opklaringen zouden ontstaan.
We namen ons dan maar voor om van de nood een deugd te maken en na de foto van deze BASF-trein naar Ludwigshafen een paar meter verder op het wegje te stappen omdat we van daar makkelijker goederentreinen uit beide richtingen zouden kunnen vastleggen.

As usual, the sun was behind the clouds, when the first freight train of the day passed our lenses. Behind the red DB class 186 one can see a train for BASF from Antwerp to Ludwigshafen.
We decided to move some hundred meters more westward on the path. Now that the sun was behind the clouds, it was a good idea to go to a location where we could take photos of trains in both directions.

Sr2 3238 hauling once a week running container train from Raahe towards Vuosaari Harbour on a sunny but cold spring day. Train is continuing its journey after a quick brake at Seinäjoki.
Die WHE betreibt im Ruhrgebiet den Güterverkehr auf insgesamt 34 km eigenen Gleisanlagen sowie darüber hinaus auf einzelnen Relationen auf dem DB-Netz. Hierzu stehen acht Diesellokomotiven zur Verfügung - drei MaK G 1600 BB, zwei MaK G 1204 BB, je eine MaK G 1202 BB und Deutz KS 55 B sowie ein Windhoff-Rangiergerät. Lok 29 konnte ich am 16. Juli 2003 mit einem kurzen gemischten Güterzug von Gbf Wanne-Eickel zum Container Terminal in Herne Crange fotografieren.

The railroad company WHE is only active in the Ruhr area in West Germany and predominantly runs on its own infrastructure (25 miles of tracks in total). Seen in the picture is engine 29 with a short freight train running from the Wanne-Eickel yard to the container terminal in Herne in Herne Crange...
CN L512, the Lakefront Local as it’s called, passes through CP 503 on its return run to Kirk Yard with a nice GTW blue pair. Leading east is GP9R 4632, a unit that rarely leads anything due to its lack of PTC, so it definitely a treat to see it on point of this job.
In the background, demolition crews are hard at work demolishing the old IHW Sinter Plant on the west side of the canal.

In the last of the day's fantastic sunshine, Freightliner's 66602 emerges from Cowburn Tunnel on 6M92, West Thurrock Cement Works to Tunstead Quarry.
All kinds of shenanigans going on in and out of Peak Forest tonight. Something (though I cannot see what), delayed 6F73 by 30 minutes, which in turn meant 6C76 was delayed leaving Chinley East Junction. This meant 66602 came to a halt at the signal just round the curve from this location, blocking the foot crossing I use to get back to the road! I thus stood looking at a line of cement tanks for 20 minutes, until 6C76 rumbled passed on the way to Luton Limbury, clearing the way from 66602 to finally enter Peak Forest. 6Z55 from Trowse ended up sat the other side of Cowburn tunnel whilst all this happened and was 25 late as well. Just shows how one delay can quickly snowball...
