A westbound Union Pacific Railroad freight train passes through Wheaton at Mile Post 25.26 of the Geneva Subdivision. The fencing in the foreground is part of the Illinois Prairie Path pedestrian bridge.

The D&H's pair of Baldwin RF-16s, more commonly known as "Sharks", trundle through Rupert, Vermont, on the Washington Branch. The tracks are long gone, but both Sharks and the depot itself still survive, although unfortunately both Sharks are hidden away these days. Photo by Thomas Nemeth, from my collection. No date was listed, but I'm assuming early 1970s.
In 2006, while one train gets out of town on the former Southern Railway Washington, DC to Atlanta main, a second train waits in the background for it to pass so it can take the R Line south. It was rebuilt recently to NS 1800, a SD70ACU, with a new safety cab.
DB 185 318 was op 15 augustus 2009 met één van de vele goederentreinen op de Nord-Süd-strecke onderweg en werd in de bekende S-bocht van Freden gefotografeerd.
Am 15. August 2009 war ich ein paar Stunden in Freden (Leine). Das Objekt der Begierde war zwar die Porsche Taurus (welche erfolgreich fotografiert werden konnte), allerdings gab es noch viele weitere Güterzüge zu bestaunen wie z.B. die 185 318 welche mit einem langen Güterzug gen Norden unterwegs war...

Am Freitagnachmittag ging es nochmal kurz an die Rollbahn denn neben einer HHPI EuroDual hat sich noch die SEL mit ihrer hübschen 120 144 aus Bremerhaven angekündigt.
Mit einem beladenen Milsped Ganzzug hat der Zug hier soeben Twistringen hinter sich gelassen und rollt in Richtung Süden.
Seit 07. September ist es möglich den slowenischen Teil der Südbahn ab dem Grenzbahnhof Spielfeld-Straß mit vieraschsigen E-Loks zu befahren da die Infrastruktur ertüchtigt und die Streckenklasse gehoben wurde.
Loks wie Taurus 3 und Vectron können somit bis Koper durchfahren und das Umspannen auf die slowenischen 342 bzw. 363 in Spielfeld-Straß ist somit obsolet geworden.
Am 08.09.2020 war der LTE/ADT Containerzug 41441 von Kalsdorf nach Koper mit der Adria Transport 1216 921 bespannt und wurde von mir in Strihovec fotografiert.
An eastbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe manifest freight has just topped a wintery Soldier Summit, carrying with it some blowing snow, as it heads downgrade towards Colton, Utah, on the afternoon of February 5, 2004.
As much as I try to avoid using my drone whenever possible, there are some times when I'm just too intrigued as to what it would look like. I didn't expect the view of the Battle River Valley, looking northeast, to be half as pretty as this - but I couldn't help but feel amazed looking at the drone controller. A westbound grain train led by a newly rebuilt AC44C6M set the stage, as they rolled across the expanse. Although the trestle looks smaller from the sky, the true size of it is amplified when you can see the whole train in one image. I try not to fall in love with drone images too often, as I think they're kind of cheating… but I couldn't think of a better photo to end the trip with.

Coming out of Logan at a crawl it would stop behind other traffic waiting for Mo Valley and Cal Jct to be cleared up.
Canadian National run-through power guides an empty sand train up the grade into Lake Park, MN on a very cold January morning.
Langzaam maar zeker begin ik een beetje door mijn foto's van vorig jaar zomer te raken. Echter heb ik nog van een aantal tripjes genoeg foto's op de plank liggen zoals de tweeënhalve dag in het Maintal. Tijdens ons tripje werden de Gefco autotreinen van ZSSK Cargo, gereden door EccoRail in Duitsland, omgeleid via het Maintal waardoor we deze treinen een aantal keer wisten vast te leggen. Normaalgesproken rijden deze treinen vanuit Passau via Stuttgart naar Kehl, maar door werkzaamheden werd er omgeleid via het Maintal en Aschaffenburg.
In een waterig zonnetje komt de ZSSK Cargo 383 208 voorbij Retzbach-Zellingen gereden met een lege Gefco autotrein. Komende vanuit Kehl is de trein via de omleidingsroute onderweg naar Passau om via Oostenrijk naar Slowakije te geraken. De uiteindelijke eindbestemming ligt in de omgeving van Bratislava!

Trains are fascinating to watch, and listen to. The railroads played a major role in the development of the United States during a large part of the 19th and 20th centuries. American history is filled with stories, lore and myth about the railroads.

CSX B731 exits the west end of Walpole Tunnel on the MBTA Franklin Branch. This train has just made the run on the main from Readville and will soon take the switch at Walpole Interlocking. From Walpole the train will take the Framingham Secondary north for the Nevins Yard in Framingham.

Tradition dictates that I post a great photo of Milwaukee Road #156, the SD40-2 bicentennial unit for 1976, each Fourth of July. This beauty in red, white, and blue has always been my favorite of the railroads that painted units to celebrate our 200th anniversary. Here we see her on point at Easton, WA on May 24, 1977.

Dacht dat ik hem niet had maar na even zoeken blijk ik hem wel degelijk op de foto te hebben. Hier op zaterdag 18 juli 2020 bij Willemsdorp met trein 41717 van de Maasvlakte naar Duisburg Rheinhausen.

Die bunte HSL 186 642 "Ecorider" war am Nachmittag des 25. Oktober 2023 mit einem Kesselwagenzug auf dem Berliner Außenring unterwegs gen Süden (hier bei Bornim Grube).
De erg kleurrijke HSL loc 186 642 (genaamd Ecorider) was op 25 october 2023 met een ketelwagentrein op de Berlijnse "Außenring" onderweg richting het zuiden. Te Bornim Grube kon ik de trein fotograferen.

A westbound Burlington Northern freight rumbles through Aurora, Illinois, and passes BN/Metra commuter trains laying over in Hill Yard on Saturday, April 16, 1988. The second unit on the freight is leased Kyle Railroad EMD GP40 No. 3116.
A railroad crew has left the class lights burning on this former Conrail C40-8W in the Cayce, South Carolina yard. Built in 1990 as CR 6052, she was retired by CSX in 2018 and sold to General Electric Company as GECX #7301.

On their first run after the 2012 Heritage Units get together in Spencer, Norfolk Southern 8025, the Monongahela Railway unit, on point of 50Z, a unit grain train heading for Amick Farms in Monetta, South Carolina. Here, a new crew gets on board for the remainder of the trip down the R Line. Also on the train is NS 8114 and 1030. The train is stopped just short of Pickney Street in Columbia, South Carolina.
