Mixed freight led by BNSF #9254 EMD SD70ACe Locomotive. North of Flint yard heading northbound toward Oklahoma City.
The Coevorden Shuttle was detouring on the Oude Lijn (Old LIne) today, which gave the opportunity to get a shot of this train at the eastside of Voorhout. Train is HSL, engine is RXP 9902.

Steiermarkbahn 183 717 is on the way to Hegyeshalom, with a FOXrail container train from Soroksári út, near Szár.
Op de eerste hele vakantiedag op ons tripje naar Dresden werd er naar de Berliner Außenring gereden om daar een dagje bij Ahrensdorf te kijken. Helaas was de ochtendstek niet toegankelijk dus moest er een uurtje gewacht werden totdat de eerste treinen goed voor de zon zouden passeren. Net nadat de zon het spoor had overgestoken kondigde zich er een leuke trein aan vanuit Saarmund.
Het betrof de EBS 155 195 welke trotse bezitter is van twee schaarstroomafnemers. Ze passeert hier Ahrensdorf met een volbeladen boomstammentrein in de richting van het oosten van Brandenburg!
Montana Rail Link EMD F45 No. 390 leads LM (Laurel to Missoula manifest freight) approaching Greycliff, Montana, on the afternoon of October 3, 2005. The train will be treading through snow by the end of of the day during a blue hour climb of Bozeman Pass.
CP 251 has a wild lashup as it rounds a curve in Foster with navy unit CP 7022, KCS 4820 and CP 8107 for power. Thanks to Mathieu Tremblay for letting me stand on the roof of his truck for some elevation.
Ein richtiges Urgestein von der Brennerbahn überquert nun auf anderem Wege die Alpen und die Grenze zu Italien.
Jahrzehnte fuhr der meistens vollausgelastete Kombizug vom Rostocker Seehafen über den Frankenwald bis nach Tirol und über den Brennerpass weiter nach Verona Quadrante Europa.
Im letzten Jahr noch mit Hectorail, Lokomotion und der Mercitalia Rail.
Nun ziehen den Zug keine Zebras mehr, dafür sind nun Loks der Budamar Gruppe vor den Leistungen zu sehen. Es geht von Rostock durchs Elbtal und Tschechien bis an die Grenze zu Österreich bei Summerau. Anschließend über die Pyhrnbahn weiter in die Steiermark und nach Kärnten, bevor der Zug Tarvisio erreicht.
In Italien ist ebenfalls ein anderes EVU für die Traktionierung zuständig: LTE Italia wird diesen Zug dann nach Padova bringen.
So konnte Mitte Februar 2026 die 383.217 noch in der alten Farbgebung samt einer Schwestermaschine von Alpha Trains auf dem Weg nach Tarvisio abgelichtet werden.
Die 7193.109 wird dabei ihren Zielbahnhof Padova Interporto erst bei Dunkelheit erreichen.

DE: Mit der mittäglichen Übergabe von Mannheim Rangierbahnhof in den Hafen Mannheim Rheinau durcheilt 294 776 bei Kaiserwetter den Bahnhof Mannheim-Neckarau.
EN: Under perfect weather conditions 294 776 rushes through Mannheim-Neckarau station with the midday transfer from Mannheim marshalling yard to Mannheim-Rheinau port.
Op dinsdag 8 juni ging ik niet alleen voor Lineas, die zou passeren met haar in huiskleurstelling gebrachte 186 293, naar Bruchem, maar een uur eerder zou er nog een andere trein richting Brabant passeren. PKP Cargo was namelijk weer onderweg met een uit China afkomstige containertrein die ze in Małaszewicze had overgenomen. Zoals altijd was de eindbestemming in Nederland de Railport Brabant gelegen op Tilburg Industrie. Aangezien ik nog niet heel veel plaatjes had van PKP Cargo op Nederlandse bodem en het schitterend weer was, werd er dus al wat eerder afgereisd naar Bruchem. Een aantal kleine stapelwolkjes maakten het af en toe toch een beetje spannend, maar toen in de verte de lichtrode met grijze neus zichtbaar werd, lag de complete omgeving te genieten van het zonnetje.
Het is exact 16:00 als de toen nog lichtrood met grijze PKP Cargo 193 515 het tweetal fotografen passeert te Bruchem met aan de haak een volbeladen containertrein afkomstig uit China. Inmiddels zijn de lichtrode accenten vervangen voor blauwe accenten wat tevens bij haar zusje de 193 513 ook gebeurd is. Alleen de 193 514 heeft als enige van de drie in Nederland toegelaten PKP Cargo 193'ers tot op heden haar lichtrode accenten behouden!

CPKC's 121 is seen westbound passing the well known MP19 bog on the Moosehead Sub, with CP 8781 leading the way. The 121 is just starting to get into the long grade coming out of Onawa, with a steady uphill climb for the next eight miles into Morkill. Fortunately for the crew today, they have two decent engines, and a relatively light train.

At sunset, general freight train NS 12Q cruise by the east end of Peabody siding at Peabody, Indiana on the former Nickel Plate Road. The track in the foreground leads to some grain elevators.
At sunrise on September 23, 2008, Montana Rail Link’s Polson Local, powered by MRL GP9 No. 111 and GP35 No. 402, heads north at milepost 16, between Charlo and Ronan, Montana. The magnificent Mission Mountains provide a rugged backdrop, with morning clouds flowing over the mountaintops that are dusted with an early snow. Closure of the Plum Creek Timber Co. sawmill in Pablo in 2009, the largest shipper on the Polson Branch, was a major blow to the line. The branch was embargoed in 2011 and hasn’t seen a train since.
The sun sets on July 9, 2024, as BNSF’s Helena local rolls to a stop in the siding at Winston for a wait on a westbound BNSF oil train climbing the grade of Winston Hill. Color in the sky is courtesy of the nearby Horse Gulch wildfire north of Canyon Ferry.

CN 369 splits the intermediate signals at MP 17.4 of the Kingston Sub with CN 8920, CN 2553 and 141 cars.
As much as I try to avoid using my drone whenever possible, there are some times when I'm just too intrigued as to what it would look like. I didn't expect the view of the Battle River Valley, looking northeast, to be half as pretty as this - but I couldn't help but feel amazed looking at the drone controller. A westbound grain train led by a newly rebuilt AC44C6M set the stage, as they rolled across the expanse. Although the trestle looks smaller from the sky, the true size of it is amplified when you can see the whole train in one image. I try not to fall in love with drone images too often, as I think they're kind of cheating… but I couldn't think of a better photo to end the trip with.

On the morning after a Colorado snowstorm, BNSF’s Provo to Denver priority freight rolls eastbound through Crescent during a snowy descent on Union Pacific’s Moffat Tunnel Subdivision. You wouldn’t know it from appearances, but Crescent siding is in the foreground, completely covered in snow.
Längst Vewrgangenheit ist die Verbindungsstrecke der Köln-Bonner Eisenbahn vom DB-Bahnhof Eifeltor zur KBE-Vorgebirgsbahn nach Hermülheim. Zuletzt gab es nur noch einen werktäglichen Güterzug. Noch im Kölner Stadtgebiet schlängelt sich eine von der KBE-Lok V 36 gezogene Übergabe dem Bahnübergang an der Luxemburger Straße entgegen.

60058 on the Saturday Grangemouth-Fiddlers Ferry coal train, approaching Craigenhill summit, the top of the long climb from Motherwell. Mid 1990s.I regularly targeted this train around that time. From memory it loaded to 42 wagons rather than the usual 36.
CSXT 5486 (ES40DC) leads a stack train west on track 1 between Erie, Pa. and Conneaut, Ohio. As you can see, spring is in the air! Puddles along the tracks, compliments of strong thunderstorms, last evening.
