CSXT 3006B is the fourth unit in a consist at Hagerstown on May 6, 1995. Built by GE in January 1979 for the Seaboard Coast Line as their 5136, it was a BQ23-7. By the date of this slide it had been converted to a B unit and had but a couple of more years of service left before being retired still wearing it's as-delivered Family Lines dress.

GB Railfreight's Trainload Petroleum-liveried Class 66/6, 66794 "Steve Hannam" works 6E17 12:30 Liverpool Biomass Terminal to Drax Power Station through Acton Bridge.

Having undergone attention at Longport for power issues, 66794 had been released the previous Friday and was tried out initially on the Shap/Ashton stone trains during the week and then on a couple of biomass turns towards the end of the week.

It may be a fleeting dalliance with the woodchip though, as 6E17 (and 6D99 the following day) is typically used to move locos back to Doncaster to be swapped out.

666794 is a recent import from Germany and is a Class 66/6 spec locomotive, meaning it has higher tractive effort and a lower top speed (65 mph vs 75 mph) compared to standard Class 66s. Assuming its power issues are resolved, its likely to be allocated to the BA aviation fuel flow between Grain and Colnbrook.

GB Railfreight Class 60, 60021 "Pen-Y-Ghent" brightens up a grey autumn morning as it heads past Broadoak Lane, Mobberley with 6E09 07:40 Liverpool Biomass Terminal to Drax Power Station.

A longer than usual CN 529 is almost finished its run from Rouses Point as it heads west on CN's Montreal Sub with NS 2691, NS 9553 & NS 1101 leading 80 cars. This shot will not be doable for much longer, as CN's tracks here will move to a new ROW a bit further north, probably before the end of 2017.

Interesting to see that a fair amount of RCPE power seems to be running through on the Tracy - Bensenville (?) 470/471's now. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Thanks to globalization german washing machines are built in Poland. The parts are delivered by train and truck, the assembled washing machines need the power of a train to be brought back to Germany, to Nauen just north of Berlin.
