Cincu is a small village in Transsylvania. As nearly every village in this area, it has a prominent church which served as a fortress at the same time. This is the view to the south from the church tower.
November rainbow in Yosemite Valley. We note all of the rainbows we see in Yosemite’s waterfalls, so we can search forward to determine when those rainbows will happen again, so we can bring photography workshops back on days when the sun or moon position repeats that geometry, to reproduce a rainbow or moonbow there
I awoke early this morning and thought I will head up to Newbiggin for a sunrise. I was on the road at 5.15am, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky, so I carried on up the M6 and decided to have a good walk around Holme Fell.
It was a crystal clear, still, frosty morning. I got to the summit around 6.45 am and it was perfectly still and silent. I liked this strange Silver Birch framing the Langdale Pikes, so I set up and to my shock I heard a loud rumbling and thunder of hooves. I had seen a number of Belted Galloway Cattle on the way up and gave them a wide berth, so I was shocked when I turned round and saw about 12 Red Deer thundering towards me. As I turned they spotted me and quickly came to a halt before heading off in the opposite direction. Majestic Creatures.
I took quite a few shots of spots up here before descending to my car without seeing another soul. I was back on the road at 9.45 am and its great to watch the cars heading into the Lakes as you are heading in the opposite direction.
Small In Frame - It took me a while to come around with the small in frame trend, but I think the switch to mirrorless and going back to using a zoom lens helped me explore and appreciate this type of photography more. The subject/eye autofocus allows me to compose these images real time, no more moving the focus point or focusing and recomposing. With a zoom, I am able to capture a portrait and a wider angle shot from the exact same spot I am standing. This is especially useful for fast subjects like hummingbirds - by the time you move, they are off the perch!
Loved the juxtaposition here of the colorful hummingbird with the dry vegetation.

The statue of Red Hugh O'Donnell stands proudly framed by the rainbow at the site of the Battle of the Curlew Pass in Boyle, Co. Leitrim!
most people on the street are just figures. but this man carries his own frame. a heavy, metal rectangle that separates him from the world. he is both the worker and the artwork. his gaze is direct, a quiet statement from within the structure he holds. it is a portrait of labor, a story about the unseen effort that goes into creating the frames in which we see the world.
While at Edwards Gardens in Scarborough On. I came upon this concrete window. Well opportunity knocks at every corner, so keeping in mind of a window frame, I photographed these flowers in the concrete frame. I liked the way it turned out.

A short while ago Instead of just having my pictures on flickr and then having them live their lives out in my computer I started printing and framing 8x10 of my favorite people, places, flowers and birds and then hanging them on my computer room walls. This smaller one will get hung later today and then I have room for 2 more frames like this one to balance off the space. I am Loving my room now !!!!!
