I originally wanted to capture the view outside the train window, but the delay in my camera settings made me miss the moment. Just as I thought the shot was lost, the window frame itself turned into a natural frame for a new kind of photo. The outside world of nature and the inside traveler with his phone are all part of a single frame. And if you look closely, you’ll notice the guy is framed within his own phone too.

Reflection guy, looks like you’re in the frame twice, congrats!

Another frame of this spectacular scene that all came together for me, and that I'll forever be grateful for as this photo is all history now.

Framed up by the northwoods fir trees we have a look at a Two Harbors Yard crew on board a U793 train of loaded taconite pellets from Cleveland-Cliffs Minorca Mine which is crawling through the dump building at the prescribed 0.3 may behind a brace of classic GE C40-8s, CN 2000, 2007, and 2020. The trio were built as CNW 8501, 8507, and 8521 in Jun and Jul 1989 respectively for hauling coal out of the Powder River Basin. Later renumbered and repainted as UP 9023, 9030, and 9043 they were part of a large group retired by UP more than 24 years ago. They then served as Citirail lease units for a time until CN purchased the entire fleet between 2010-2012, and later modified a portion of those with straight air for Iron Range ore train service which has explained their unexpected longevity.

Alas after an entire second full career in heavy haul unit train service their time has come to an end as CN has modified 22 (I believe) rebuilt AC446Ms with straight air and has replaced all of these (and the EMDs on the Missabe Sub side) in 2 for 3 replacement schede on all ore trains. According to a good friend and local CN employee the end would come in a bit over a month on October 26th when the last pellet train ran down the Iron Range Sub behind a three pack of Dash-8s.

Minus 15c and shooting stars, so fun we had!

A male Ferruginous Duck (Aythya nyroca) was framed while running on the water for the final steps of its take off. The sounds and actions were spectacular in the field. I got this one frame right on focus at the perfect moment in perfect light. The colour of the bird just complemented by a beautiful green yellow bokeh backdrop. Pics was taken from Purbasthali, Burdwan, West Bengal, India.

For the Smile on Saturday Group, topic: Framed.

Natural framing provided by an aluminum bench. Sometimes all you need is a different angle.

Arches and sea stacks at Tongaporutu, New Zealand.

On my third visit to Tongaporutu I was determined to reach the end of the beach where I found this double arch and more beautiful sea stacks.

Turner Motorsport team mechanic at the IMSA Northeast Grand Prix held at Lime Rock Park. Composed and submitted for FlickrFriday #subframing theme; not only is the subject framed within the frame, but the subframe is a car's frame!

The sun was so bright yesterday. I went under the trees and snapped this, love the way they framed the sky and clouds.

Dubai Frame - presents views of old Dubai in the north and new Dubai in the south, complete with "smart glass" floor activating under pressure.

It is a landmark attraction in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is a 150-meter-tall structure shaped like a giant picture frame, with a glass bridge connecting the two sides. Visitors can take an elevator to the top of the frame and enjoy panoramic views of the city. Inside the frame, there are exhibitions showcasing Dubai's past, present, and future. The Frame is a popular tourist destination and has become an iconic symbol of Dubai's modern architecture.

Film Noir moments lead me onto a fun and imaginative walk home as the entire "film" plays out and all of the interesting characters fall into place. Here we have the "femme fatale" on her way to meet the protagonist.

Loved the framing of this image. I feel like it really captures her daily work life!
