In today's digital world people talk about 'noise'. Back in the good old days we called it 'grain', and it was made of precious chunks of genuine silver. This is a huge blowup, thanks to the Fuji Macrocinecopy, of about a 2.5 x 3.5 mm part of a Minox negative. If you back up far enough you can see an image, showing part of the audience and box seats of an opera house. At this scale it's sort of like looking at a pointillist painting.
To give you an idea of how big a blowup this is... if you view this at the 'original' size, the full frame Minox image would measure about 6 by 9 FEET.

This was a group project between William Bristow and myself. We designed a picture frame that would be CNC routed and put together without the need for glues or screws

Another architectural abstraction. The structural frame pulls away from the glass curtain wall to create exterior spaces around the library.
