I had a most enjoyable time this afternoon, rolling about my neighbour's field, taking photos of her beautiful horse Sly, and his friend Scruffy. This is Sly, framing himself with his legs.
I don't normally say it on Flickr, but this image really is better viewed large. There's some lovely detail, including his pretty eyelashes. I don't think Flickr displays portrait images very well.
Nothing special perhaps, but I have promised a friend to look for these "natural frames" - here ya go :)

I booked today on leave, but the thing that I was planning to do had been cancelled. So with some time on my hands, I thought that I would make a start on painting the ground frame. The red and yellow levers get their first coat of paint, and the chassis is liberally coated with black Hammerite. It is amazing the transformation that this has made. I just need to find the brown paint now.

It enslaves the women of Earth! It looked like a gardenia but it was the most vicious drug in existence. Framed and disgraced space pilot Charles Farradyne is offered one shot at redemption by finding out who was peddling the deadly ultra-aphrodisiac Hellflowers and infiltrating the interstellar organization trafficking it — and he might just discover who framed him in the process . . . [Prologue]
“Farradyne had committed the one unpardonable error a Space Master could make. He didn't die along with the other 32 passengers when his ship smashed into the Bog on Venus. They broke him—exiled him to the rotting fungus fields of Venus. Now his only desire in existence was to return to the cool, gleaming sea of deep space. And there was a way—only one. But he would have to become the vilest parasite in the universe—peddler of a poison that stripped the spirit, before it consumed the body...." – Goodreads.com
George O. Smith, born on April 9, 1911, was an American science fiction author renowned for his contributions during the Golden Age of Science Fiction. He frequently published stories in “Astounding Science Fiction” and is best known for his “Venus Equilateral” series, which revolved around a communications station in outer space. His notable works include "Operation Interstellar" (1950) and "Lost in Space" (1959). Smith's career spanned several decades, with his writing peaking in the 1940s and 1950s.
Smith's personal life was as intriguing as his stories. He married Doña Campbell, the first wife of Astounding's editor John W. Campbell, in 1949. Despite a prolific early career, his output diminished in the 1960s due to a demanding job. He was honored with the First Fandom Hall of Fame Award in 1980, a testament to his lasting impact on the science fiction community. George O. Smith passed away on May 27, 1981, leaving behind a legacy of imaginative and technically rich science fiction. [Sources: Wikipedia and Fancyclopedia.org]
[Note: "Lost in Space" by George O. Smith is a classic story about a lost space lifeboat. The book is told from the perspectives of the searchers, the missing passengers, and the aliens closing in. It is not connected to the 1965 TV series of the same name.]

Garston Freightliner Frame signal box located at the entrance to Garston freightliner terminal in south Liverpool. Saturday 13th February 1988
Garston Freightliner Frame signal box was a British Railway London Midland Region type 15 design which opened as a non block post on 27th April 1969 fitted with a 10 lever London Midland Region Standard frame. The lever frame was taken out of use on 13th June 1993 and signal box was thereafter only used to house a telephone from/to Garston Junction signal box. The signal box was demolished in February 1997, the lever frame being moved to the Stevington & Turvey Light Railway in Bedfordshire

The former Bristol and West Building Society office tower in the process of redevelopment (apparently to make it look uglier). I liked this tight grop on the concrete frame and teh two hard-hatted guys trapped near the top floor.

Lightly armored multi-purpose frame. I'm quite happy with the look of the shoulders but the cockpit isn't my favorite. Not sure about the articulation in the arms or legs either - they seem a bit restricted.

this is the doggie door to the next door neighbours. Leaf frame. leaf cement molds and blocks of leaf imprints patio.
took this shot of my daughter for an assignment for my local camera club. The subject was in camera framing and this idea sounded pretty good to me.
Worked the late evening shift and spent the majority of my dinner break waiting for the Moon Rise on the east side of the tower. It was disappointing... so it's yet another sunset framed by the tower structure.
I'll hit streams before work tomorrow!
A brand new framed yoyo set (robayre) in my Etsy shop, link in my profile. I had Valentine's Day on my brain when I came up with this piece. I searched for a white fabric with tiny red hearts and after coming up empty handed I just bought a fabric pen and constructed my own!

I'm selling off the last frame I made for myself while I was at Bilenky Cycle Works. It was intended as a rough road/randonee type bike. I never actually rode this frame, I had it built up and it sat around in my shed for a year or so, hence the paint is in VGC, but with a few minor nicks.
Constructed in the bi-laminate style and made with predominantly True Temper S3 tubing, this is probably the lightest frame that I worked on while at BCW weighing in at 1500g (it was only 1300g before paint...). Sizing: 530mm ST c-c, 550mm TT c-c. Fits 700x28c tires with fenders, long reach sidepull brakes, and a 1 1/8" headset. 130mm spaced rear end.
Comes with what you see in the photos. Frame and fork, Chris King headset and Shimano long reach sidepulls. Price: $2200 OBO.
I could also provide this as a whole bike, price depending on what kind of parts you would like.
Looking inside the 2nd floor of the abandoned tuna plant from the 3rd floor roof. Graffiti is covering nearly every available square inch of this building, it's great.
Thanks to rustyjaw for the Photomatix tips & inspiring me to try my hand at HDR again. Check out his stream, he has some incredible shots!

The smoke and fireworks are each the reason for the others existence.
The brightness, contrast of this image has been heavily manipulated; but the objects are exactly as they came from the camera. This is a full frame wide angle shot. (focal length = 27mm in 35mm format.)
I have been working on smoke for years now and this is hands down the best quality I have gotten. The dandelion burst with it's pinpoint center is something I've never seen before.
Other unusual things about the photo fascinate me. The exposure time was 1.6 seconds. I have no idea if the dandelion burst occurred during the beginning, the end, or throughout the exposure. The smoke (apparently left over from bursts before the shutter opened) seems to be illuminated by a light source from the location of the single dandelion burst. However the color of that light is red and the dandelion burst is mostly yellow… Where did all the red light come from?
Presenting photos is a hard challenge and Flickr, which we all know and love, may not provide the very best interface for that purpose.
In his series of 20 photos I try to present them in a more traditional manner that you would use for a print - namely on a matte with a dark frame.

It was a big match day in Cardiff and all the rugby fans were here for the 6 nations game between Wales and Ireland. This chap was dressed up and framed for a portrait.
