I finally pick up a Karen Wilson bag. She's a local/Canadian designer. I remember first encountering her products on the Danforth and being shocked by the sticker price from a relatively new/unknown brand. When I saw her products at the Clothing Show a couple years ago I clutched onto a really nice clasp bag only to place it gingerly back on the shelf (due to the price tag). I couldn't help it with this gathered frame purse that I had been eying from Cat's Cradle (596 Yonge Street). I actually stopped in to look at a dress in the window... and well, I don't think I need to say any more.

Computer designed highly detailed film frame with space for your text or image. Nice grunge element for your projects. More images like this in my portfolio

I really like this one. I was playing around with natural framing and deliberately wanted to create a photograph that would mess with your eyes. There are three subjects here, and you have to consider each one separately or your eye starts jumping around.

For the first time since I started posting on flickr, we decided to frame and mat and display some of my photos. This was taken during our trip to Georgia Southern University. We hung the photo in our bedroom. See the original photo here.

These etchings are pieces I did when I was a printmaker in the seventies. So I have all these prints hanging around and I thought it would be nice to build some frames which really integrated with the art. Sort of enlarged the idea behind the print. Thus, my new category of 'framed art'.

Seen from a slightly unusual angle at the corner of Morley and Cobden Streets, this is the fine Fifteenth Century Gainsborough Old Hall. Timber framed, but with parts having an early brick skin, the Hall has been the Town's centrepiece for over 600 years.

The Hall was built (largely) by the Yorkist Lord of the Manor, Sir Thomas Burgh, who entertained King Richard III here in 1470. However, the house was built on the site of a much earlier dwelling, and there is evidence to suggest that there are few sites in England where a house has stood longer.

In 1596 the house was sold to a London Merchant, William (later Sir William) Hickman, and he added the East Wing between 1597 and 1600. In 1720 his decendent, Sir Neville Hickman moved out of the Old Hall, and into a new dwelling at Thonock, about 2 miles away.

By the early 1950s, the building was in a parlous state, and was donated to the Town. Gainsborough Urban Distric Council had plans to demolish the building and build a car park on the site, but fortunately this never came to pass. Thanks to the work of local volunteers, especially Mr Harold Brace and the group he founded - the Friends of The Old Hall, the building was not demolished. Instead the building was restored between the late 1950s and the early 1980s, and is now run by English Heritage, and a visit can not be recomended highly enough.

The trees as framers stand for inevitable connection, almost a net, connecting all different elements, making it a whole. “Framed Ben” has many conceptual levels. It mocks the touristy postcard landscapes, depicts a city as a “modern jungle” but more importantly sends a message of connection. History, present, architecture, technology, people, nature… Everything is connected, linked. It is our territory, our world, and our net.

Shoes saved from my girls Barbie collection are making a good frame right now.

I took this within the Lampshade installation in iLights 2016, designed by Snøhetta , Norway. I found the gaps between the structural frame to be quite interesting, and circled the exhibit numerous times finding interesting subject to fill the frames.
