Anthocharis cardamines, orange tip. Focusstack 12 Pictures

The shape in the drops make me think of Werther's caramel sweets.

Tripod mounted downside. Focusing rail. Self made 3d printed feeding unit with embedded adjusting screw. Feeding steps of round about 0,05mm can be achieved. Tamron 90mm Macro lens is mounted. But also my old lenses are usable for the focus stacking purpose. Sony A7II is used.

A focus stacking attempt

These tiny orange spheres reminded me of scoops of orange colored ice cream, so I added a leafy garnish for presentation.

Details:

Lycogala epidendrum, (wolf's milk or Groening's slime) forms small clusters of textured orange spheres that ooze orange slime when punctured.

White balance used the tiny gray cups as reference.

A single focus (not stacked) image was also prepared, minimizing the tiny gray cup fungi. Contrast and color enhancement with Topaz Restyle (reef at night preset, 40% normal blending mode).

The annual Swamp Sunflower bloom is starting here in Central Florida and looks like it's going to be good this year. I’d guess it’s still a week or two from peaking.

This is my first attempt and share using focus stacking. Nine images in total.

A persistent, blustery spring wind tousles the lupine and balsam root blooms that decorate the hillsides of Dalles Mountain Ranch, Washington.

After successfully surprising my mother with an unannounced visit for Mother's Day, we enjoyed the task of determining what to do with our time together. The timing was perfect for the balsam root in the Columbia River Gorge, and the range of mother's electric vehicle looked just about right for making it to the Ranch and back again with a few miles to spare. The Gorge has a more famous balsam root population further west on the Oregon side of the river, but it was delightful to explore some place a bit less popular. The Ranch itself once supported several homesteading families and numerous sheep. The odd patch of non-native trees, out of place amongst the natives and in unexpected locations on the landscape, are testaments to the homesteaders' efforts to shape the place to their tastes.

Technical notes: Hand-held focus stack of three images.

Focus stacked shot of a Columbine bloom

Just doing something different makes you think in other ways, how to shoot Spring Blossom on a windy day with rain coming down, just because it is raining does not mean photography stops.

I shot this against my monitor and a photo of the sky I had shot previously.

I then did an eleven shot focus stack carefully choosing my focus points to pick out various elements, I`m not entirely happy with it the Petals are a little bright for my liking but for now i`ll go with it until I find another subject.

I have recently been attempting to focus stack flowers to capture all the details. Nature is so beautiful and we really don't appreciate how intricate some things are.

I am currently using a manual focus rail and this image consists of 72 images stacked using a 30 days trial of the Helicon Focus 8 software.

For this shot I have merged 7 single images with Focus Stacking. The background was illuminated with a LED flashlight.

This is a claw of an unidentified bug. I think it is some kind of praying mantis. It was very discolored and damaged when I found it.

Just white paper. No pencil, ink, paint or other marks.

Folded radially. Lighting from behind, top right and left.

The only colour is caused by the back-lighting through the paper.

I hope you like it. Made for MacroMondays "Just White Paper" challenge.

This was a captive animal (at the time), which had been picked up nearby and laid here for photographic purposes, then allowed to be on its own afterwards.

Dawn in a foggy meadow with many small dragonflies soaked with dew. Arranging the 3 chasers to form a pleasing composition, I set about focus stacking the nearest insect with c.40 images at an open aperture to produce good bokeh. The second and third dragonflies were taken with 1 image each by focussing on the eyes. All images were stacked in one batch using Helicon Stacker with stacking aberrations removed in Photoshop.

A second version of the image was processed with the 2nd two dragonflies completely out of focus.
