Here is the the most beautiful Variegated Fritillary butterfly. A welcome vistor to my lantana. One of the best part of summer is these vistors to my flower garden.

Flannel Flowers (Actinotus helianthi) seem to be blooming prolifically this season, possibly a response to the prolonged dry conditions. Tomaree National Park north of Newcastle has some particularly fine displays in its sandier areas.

Took a walk at Mission Island and saw these plants fluttering in the wind. Glad enjoying nature is still free

Two Monarchs that had been doing aerial mating dances were just landing on the flowers but the sun went behind the clouds at the same time causing my shutter speed to lower creating wing blur. Decided to keep it for something a bit different. :)
Yep.. things continue be totally crazy in my world! But the good news is, things are guaranteed to get MUCH better from here on out! :-) I am still busy and in the midst of starting a new business! More to come on that soon. :-)
This is a shot I took a few months back and is really just a tool test, but couldn't bring myself to throw it in the reject bin! ;-)
I will be doing a LP Photo Walk again this Friday and I am looking forward to getting out and doing some Light Painting with a small crowd again!

I hardly know one butterfly from another, sadly! But there were lots of different ones up there in the Haute Savoie - along with a multitude of beautiful wild flowers! And as summer seems to be on it's way out, I thought it would be nice to resurrect a few!
