"Flutter" is one of four mosaic murals called "The Lily Pond on Beechwood Ave." The works made from post consumer recycled plastics were created by local artist Barbara Verner.

Another young Anna's hummingbird inspecting the honeysuckle. Their flying skills seem sloppier and more moth-like when they are new to the game.

A butterfly is such a magnificent creature for it beholds a beauty incomparable to others. This was taken during my trip to the little chapel last week. A male common blue.I don't shoot macro that much, but when I do, its really rewarding. You can get so lost in the moment, I probably have about 30 photos of this little one! As the sun dropped, the butterfly happily sat there being photographed.
Each summer an exhibit called "Flutter" opens at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in Cleveland, Ohio. This exhibit is housed in the public greenhouse located on zoo grounds. It features a large variety of plants and during the summer months is home to a large population of moths and butterflies. This is the first in a series of images taken at that exhibit this year. Previous year images can be found in my Flutter set.
Just a hint of French Watercolor Paper texture added to add some texture to the background.

I've never tried anything like this before, but it was fun. I am taking an introductory Photoshop class even though I have been using Photoshop for quite some time and know just enough as far as what I need to do with conventional photographs (or maybe just want I think I need to know). This is a composite (obviously). I used abstracted trees for the background, a couple of texture layers and a photograph I took of a butterfly painted on the bottle. I isolated the butterfly from the photograph and used it over and over, making them different sizes, etc.--so many layers!

A female swallowtail feeding on the flowers of a pink butterfly bush, in the butterfly garden, at the Old City Cemetery in Lynchburg, Virginia…
I took hundreds of pictures trying to capture a fledgling oriole fluttering their wings begging to be fed. I think it's such a cool thing to see in nature and I think this picture captured it perfectly
This was captured in Salina, Kansas
Sandhill crane family (two parents and two colts)
Despite how it may look, these birds weren't vocalizing. Rather, they were practicing gular fluttering, to help cool themselves on the hot October afternoon when I took this shot.

Snapped this shot over in the campground area of Birdsong Marina & Resort out in Camden, TN. Thought I’d do a quick photo share today because I’m making a little overnight trip to Waynesboro, TN today.
