A very common, small dragonfly around the Brisbane area. This one was a little damaged and not easy to catch with the bulky 100-400 lens. It is also known as the Banded Flutterer and Small Pond Dragonfly.

My original photograph of a little feather found on my balcony has been quite the inspiration. Sometimes it's the small and seemingly inconsequential things in life that can spur the imagination.

"Flutter" is one of four mosaic murals called "The Lily Pond on Beechwood Ave." The works made from post consumer recycled plastics were created by local artist Barbara Verner.

We spent the entire first morning around the lodge.
This was my favourite dragonfly of the trip. I had never heard of it before seeing one but there were quite a few around the ponds throughout my stay. I spent a lot of time on the trip trying to get a photo of one I really liked. This was one of my best efforts.

Each summer an exhibit called "Flutter" opens at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in Cleveland, Ohio. This exhibit is housed in the public greenhouse located on zoo grounds. It features a large variety of plants and during the summer months is home to a large population of moths and butterflies. This is the first in a series of images taken at that exhibit this year. Previous year images can be found in my Flutter set.
Just a hint of French Watercolor Paper texture added to add some texture to the background.
