If you direct your attention to the position of a bird with regard to the wave surface, it will speedily be noticed to be nearly always on the rising side or face of the wave and moving apparently at right angles to the wave's course, but really diagonal to it.
That's the kind of talk my brother loves doing with me and that's the kind of thing he may say after seeing such pictures ;-)

This chocolate brown butterfly I found fluttering over the sand at Hat Sai Khao/White Sand Beach on the island of Koh Chang in eastern Thailand is a plain blue crow (Euploea modesta modesta).
It wasn't really in a landing kind of mood so I had to settle for an action shot this time.

During the winter, I often catch the dawn on my way to work. Rush hour traffic and a hectic schedule distract me from its beauty. During the spring I have to rise earlier to see it. But I can stop to enjoy that magic moment just before dawn and just breath.
