Back to skimming the cloud tops, just a hazy layer this time

Checking my wings for ice and spotted some traffic in the distance

Top of descent, the still-distant Scottish coastline is mostly lost in the clouds

Still managed to make a good turn and roll out onto final despite my troubles seeing the runway

Base leg, trying to find the runway but the sun glare is not helping

Managed to get back down but nose wants to stay up!

Woaah hey now where the hell you think you're going?!

Finally all three wheels on the ground and staying there. What was that all about?! I had to hold the yoke forward to keep the nose wheel on the ground

John Wick airport!! Okay not quite but close enough

Found the road, Rt E12, that I can follow via my charts

Found my way to the Tallberg Bridges without trouble

Still at 2.500' which should keep me just clear of terrain on this route but remaining vigilant

Approaching Sollefteå and still staying above terrain

Descending in anticipation of arrival but have to clear one last ridge before I can continue down

Over the ridge. Now, where is the airport?

Uncleared runway. This is going to be so not fun (to see on approach)

The fact that they have marker balls means they are from an object library that has collisions enabled, so good thing I was able to avoid them!

Decent flare on touchdown, was rated a "firm" landing of 1.6G by the analysis tool, which for my first landing in this plane I will certainly take

The town of Neskaupstaður and no those trees are not a glitch that would be Hjallaskógur - National forest. Yes that is a forest in Iceland, which does not have much in the way of trees

Climbing inland to look for a field that seemed interesting to land at

Yeaaa I have no clue where I am really - the coastline here is horribly rendered on charts and various satellite images compared to the game so I'm just going to continue on. Really beautiful stark landscape tho

A massive glacial outflow that has created countless crisscrossing meandering channels as water makes its way to the sea. also crossing from the southern to the eastern region

A rocky cleft named Ingólfshöfði, upon which sits a VOR station as well as a lighthouse

One of the glaciers flowing off the volcano of Öræfajökull

This lighthouse isn't even on Google Maps but the sim said its there. Öræfajökull looms in the distance and the highest point there is also the highest in Iceland - Hvannadalshnúkur

The many glacial outflows from Vatnajökull National Park

An interesting formation of mountains but no names for these visible peaks

Getting back down low to buzz Stokksnes Lighthouse

Sun has already set for some parts of the island

I want to drive here so bad. When there's no snow of course

Descending as I near my arrival and the clouds start to gather at my altitude

Approaching the final spit of land between me and my destination

Headed out over the ice - could stick to the shore and dogleg in for final but wanted to setup a more straight-in approach. Not like my engine's going to fail or anything

Ah, here we go, heading in the right direction now

Kópavogur, 2nd largest town in Iceland by population, just south and part of the Rejkjavik capital region

Rough overland roads worn into the lava fields as the coastal highway continues its wrap around the island

Heading inland up the river Ytri-Rangá for a small diversion

Just able to make out the grass runways at Hella airport

Cozy little place, didn't have any reason to stick around though

The coastal region of Búðarhólshverfi
