Evidence of mining, not sure for what though

OMFG I never changed to standard altitude /facepalm - this is not the time I realized this during the flight either. I wouldn't notice until I'm descending to land FFS

Now in Ethiopia, looking out over the Tigray Mountains towards Ras Dashen, obscured by clouds, the highest peak of the country

Spotty rain showers just off my approach line and a larger one just beyond the airport as I pass Dek Island

Getting ready to turn off base onto final

Perfect turn onto final approach, glide slope established

Taxiing off the far end of the runway for GA parking

Decided to not be anti-social this time

Looks like I just missed the weather closing in as I leave Rum Cay behind

Weaving between clouds as I make my way towards Crooked Island

Crossing the Bight of Acklins towards Acklins Island

Rounding the southern tip of Acklins Island to head back north along the opposite shore

Binnacle Hill settlement looks like a nice place to retire

Taxiing in to parking and noticed a fellow flier up above heading north

Grimister settlement. Looks like they have cell coverage up here at least

Waiting for the oil temps to warm up, checking out the sock and pondering whether or not I just take off right from here :P

More cliffs at Skeggjastaðahreppur

Cutting across the water to the next peninsula area. Atop that high terrain is a launch pad for the Iceland Space Agency. I will have to take a closer look on another flight

Eiðisvatn lake, more sweet cliffs

Crossing the Öxarfjörður fjord

Melt water running to the cliffs must make for some nice waterfalls in the spring

Weather closing back in on the other side of the Skjálfandi fjord

Coming around to the east side of Eyjafjörður fjord

The island of Þórðarhöfði, which is land-bridged on both ends

Miklavatn and Hópsvatn lakes, now in the Northwestern region

Runway in sight, able to make a straight-in approach with the town of Sauðárkrókur off to the right

however I didn't wait to slow down and let the tail drop instead I forced it down and actually lifted myself back up into a stall and slammed back down after my tail wheel struck the ground. OOF

Taxiing in to Alexandersflugvöllur

Looking out over the port city of Otaru

Going allll the way above the clouds this time

Descending back through the cloud scatter

No more cays but the Grand Bahama Bank itself remains visible as it extends towards Eleuthera Island

Looking north up Eleuthera Island, which I explored on an earlier flight

Indicated speed 70kts, ground speed 61kts - yea I was only trying this because I had a nice headwind

Leveling out just above the water and holding for the runway....

Ended up floating a good 1/3 down the runway before touching down

Okay the short landing was successful but what about the short takeoff?

No problemo! Heading out from Fowl Cay

Actually had some traffic making an approach into Staniel Cay as I flew by - you can make out their landing light in the sky above my tail

Reaching FL305 cruise altitude as I approach the coast of Sweden

More cloud coolness as they look like sloshing water

Will definitely be heading into the top layer of clouds and being unsure as to how long I figure ATC flight following would be a good idea

Sure enough, skimming just through the top of the cloud layer
