The town of Neskaupstaður and no those trees are not a glitch that would be Hjallaskógur - National forest. Yes that is a forest in Iceland, which does not have much in the way of trees

Climbing inland to look for a field that seemed interesting to land at

A massive glacial outflow that has created countless crisscrossing meandering channels as water makes its way to the sea. also crossing from the southern to the eastern region

A rocky cleft named Ingólfshöfði, upon which sits a VOR station as well as a lighthouse

One of the glaciers flowing off the volcano of Öræfajökull

This lighthouse isn't even on Google Maps but the sim said its there. Öræfajökull looms in the distance and the highest point there is also the highest in Iceland - Hvannadalshnúkur

Descending as I near my arrival and the clouds start to gather at my altitude

Approaching the final spit of land between me and my destination

Headed out over the ice - could stick to the shore and dogleg in for final but wanted to setup a more straight-in approach. Not like my engine's going to fail or anything

Kópavogur, 2nd largest town in Iceland by population, just south and part of the Rejkjavik capital region

Cabins by the sea rental homes along the coastal highway

Rough overland roads worn into the lava fields as the coastal highway continues its wrap around the island

Barren lava flow along the coast gives way to farms further inland

Heading inland up the river Ytri-Rangá for a small diversion

Just able to make out the grass runways at Hella airport

Cozy little place, didn't have any reason to stick around though

Coming in on the numbers but strong headwinds had other ideas

Finally bumped down at the runway intersection and headed for the parking area

Leaving behind the cays running along the eastern shore of Great Abaco Island and climbing for 5,500'

Looking out over Great Abaco Island as I set my cruise altitude of 5,500' to get a good view of things on this flight compared to previous ones where I stayed low

Coming around the southern end of Cat Island - guess which one is the Great Lake

Coming in over the waters for a nice gentle landing

The final speck of land, actually a pretty decent chunk of it, before the Bimini island chain ends

Continuing south down the western coast over the North Bight

Looking east across to the Middle Bight

Civilization can be found all along the eastern shore

Heading northward along the east shore passing over the South Bight

Oooh finally some tropical looking waters at Man of War Sound

Will have to come back here to fly some heli tours next year

The Saddleback Cays along Blanket Sound as I approach the northern end of Andros Island
