45° base leg approach until I spot the runway then line up for final

Hrmmm, says I'm too high but any lower and I will be in the trees... I will guide myself in thanks

Not a good sign, having to sit up and look over your nose on short final

Had a good landing - too bad it wasn't on the runway! Still clipped the damn fence

Better takeoff to the east, didn't come so close to the rocks

Coming around base at the far end of the island to setup for final

Satisfied at last, time to head out for good

Across the North Sea towards the Mainland

Passing the Sullom Voe Oil Terminal

Easy landing compared to what I just had to deal with over at Out Skerries

Taxiing back towards the parking area

First flight in the SR22 so why not make it a doozy? Low ceiling, high winds, precipitation... Let's gooooo!

Have to take off from the opposite end, crossing over to the taxiway that brings me around to a point further down the runway

Hrmmmm that's supposed to be open...

This will get me to the end of the runway but I don't need that much room

Taking another look back at the way I *want* to go

Soup remains thick as I pass by Kirkwall

Water streaming by as I begin to cross over the Pentland Firth

Catching what glimpses I can of the Orkney Islands

A decent view of Eday London Airport as I turn from north to northeast and head for Fair Isle

A bit of blue sky as I travel along the isle of Sanday

Switching tanks, which has to been monitored and performed manually on the SR22

Relatively clear weather holds as I transit the North Sea again from Fair Isle to the Shetlands

Improved conditions over Lerwick, the main town of the Shetlands

Back in the soup as I come ashore over the rocks at the southern tip of the Shetlands

Getting as good a view as I can of the Broch of Mousa, a 13m prehistoric fortified stone tower

The runway serving the village of Skaw

Keeping the light house in sight for reference as I come around from base to lineup for final

Okay let's try this again. Same as before, but further to the left of the light house on final

Looking good... steady.... steady....

Better line up this time as I crab inwards

Managed to recover and keep lined up but now I'm high over the runway

Should have made another go around but pffft. Managed to not pancake the gear on touchdown but it was a WHOMP for sure

Lost coordination and skidded off the runway. Technically I crashed but there's no colliders on these fence objects

Found plenty of room off the bottom of the runway. Whooo! What a flight!! Look forward to exploring the Shetlands in better conditions though

Positive rate as I climb out from Courchevel after an uncomplicated takeoff

Looking back towards Courchevel as I begin my ascent

Break through the clouds and see the ground far below as expected. Whew

Catching sight of the Humber Bridge spanning the river of the same name outside the city of Hull

Back the next day after departing from a nearby airport to try again after spending several hours determining what was causing my trim to run away and screw up my approach

Right down on the numbers and perfect 3-point landing to roll up the hill

Parked after a perfect landing and easy stop at the top of the hill after proper application of reverse thrust, no braking needed. Vindication!
