These flats on Richmond Road, at the top of Russell Street, were built on the site of Pontnewydd Police Station which, with Cwmbran Police Station, closed in the 1970s to move to the police station in the town centre. The wall at street level was retained. The flats were built in a similar style to the police station.
Now dwarfed by surrounding buildings, the Flat Iron Building was Fort Worth’s tallest when completed in 1907 and the city’s first steel-framed structure.
Flat Stanley settles in for a visit with Maxx the Sock Monkey and a Hershey's Kiss for dessert. Flat Stanley had a bulging belly for a little while but now he's back to being flat.

Ask any local bluegrass or old-time musician in Surry County and they know exactly how to break up Christmas. Breaking Up Christmas is both the name of a twelve-day party of socializing, music and dancing and the name of a song that is actually called “Breaking Up Christmas.”
This old Christmas party tradition originated in the 1920s and comes from the areas of Northwest North Carolina in Surry County and nearby Southwest Virginia. Before the days of television and electricity, people would gather for twelve days between Christmas and January 6, Old Christmas Day, for socializing, food, dancing, and old-time string music. The event would move from house to house and would go past midnight. Furniture would be moved to allow room for musicians and square dancers.
In many communities today, the Breaking-Up-Christmas tradition continues at civic halls and music venues throughout the area. For several years now, the Surry Arts Council has hosted a Breaking-Up-Christmas event at the Earle Theatre to honor this old holiday musical tradition.

For Eric's birthday this year, we decided to stay in a hotel overnight in Wendover. On our way then, we decided to stop off at the Bonneville Salt Flats where we played around for a bit before heading to our hotel.

This is my sister and the field we had to stop by in when we had a flat tire on our way home - Manila to Baguio.
The Flat Headed Cat is a small species of wildcat native to Borneo, Sumatra, and the Thai-Malay Peninsula. Their distribution is extremely patchy. They have been listed by the IUCN as; Endangered. Habitat loss is the primary threat to their existence. Estimates of their population place the number of extant individuals of this animal at no more than 2,500. The Flat Headed Cat is extremely rare in captivity. Fewer than 10 specimens are known to exist in captivity. All of these are in zoos located in Thailand and Malaysia.
Flat Headed Cat Physical Characteristics
The Flat Headed Cat draws its name from its distinctive cranial structure. Relative to other felines, its skull is highly flattened. The body is generally slender in shape. The legs of the Flat Head Cat are slightly longer than average for a feline. The species possesses a unique dental structure as well. Relative to body size, their canine teeth are nearly twice the length of other felines. In color, they are typically a reddish brown to dark brown on top. The underbelly is generally a mottled white in color. Head and body length averages approximately 20 in (50 cm). The tail averages approximately 6 in (15 cm) in length. The average weight is 5.5 lb (2.5 kg).
Flat Headed Cat Distribution and Habitat
The Flat Headed Cat is very restricted in its distribution. Within their native range they are found almost exclusively in tropical rainforests. Both primary and secondary such forests will be occupied. The species primarily inhabits freshwater habitats within these forests. Their preference for proximity to water is a species trait. They primarily consume fish from small streams and ponds. Very few specimens are observed more than 2 mi (3 km) from water. The Flat Headed Cat also appears to prefer sections of rainforest either in lowland areas or near coastal regions. #ourbreathingplanet
