Showing off my new tie dye socks that I got here www.feelthelovetees.com/. These young female entrepreneurs are socially conscious and produce lovely tie dyes including socks, long and short sleeved shirts, hats, and bandanas. I've loved tie dyes since the 60s and I am very glad to see the new generation is still on board. I always wanted socks and now I have them! I'm wearing one of my vintage tie dye shirts with orange pants.

Many times photographers (especially me!) think flash should only be used at night or indoors! But when I was trying to photograph this scene, the shadows in the resulting image were too dark while the sunlit areas where exposed well. That’s when I remembered about what is called ā€˜fill-in flash’ which is pretty much using the flash to expose shadows/dark areas in daylight photography. After using the flash the resulting image was much improved.

This switch is used to put the microcontroller in flash mode, so a new version of OnStep can be uploaded to the controller. It is now in run mode (switch to the right).

I figured it might be fun to see what happens if you place a flash behind a glass of Pepsi, and this was the result. I took a bunch of shots, some of them while pouring, some without ice, etc, but this one seems to be the nicest.

This is my way of mounting a flash to the umbrella reflector. Makes the flash head more or less aligned with the umbrella axis and, consequently, makes aiming easier.

So I'm back down to one flash system, but I'm am working on buying one of my own.

Tonight was a little complicated, I feel like crap so I wasn't really in the mood to look at the camera (let alone put in a lot of effort) and didn't want to just settle for a random picture of my kids toys or anything else so here you have it, I'm in the picture but don't have to look at the camera.

Now if you all will excuse me, I'm going to self medicate myself into a good nights sleep...

Last version of the flash, produced from 1980. This particular example was made in May 1980. In spite of having a more spacious bag, the internal components of the power pack are not changed from the previous version.
