Superheroes and Frisbee Golf; the Flash: Photo 5
To the Flash's joy, the Frisbee hit the hole dead-on, it was going to be a hole-in-one! But just as he began to jump for joy, he realized the consequences of his super-speedy (and fiery)throw: the Frisbee was going too fast and too hot, and instead of being caught with that perfect "ching" of the chains, it cut straight through, severing the hole in half and leaving his smoking Frisbee in the grass. "Maybe," the Flash thought to himself, "I should just stick to cross country."

Martin Mere is a superb place to visit situated between Ormskirk, Lancashire and Southport, Merseyside (Near Burscough) in Tarlcough
OK it's £8.75 to get in but you know every penny is going back to preserve endangered species of duck, crane or bird and the cafe is superb!
I must admit I am definitely not a wildlife photographer, I dabble like most people and ocassionally I get a result I am happy with.
At Martin Mere the wildfowl they are secretly trained (after the main doors are locked) to flap their wings and do a dirty, funky dance without even the aid of any music (not even handel's Water Music or anything by Wings!). Who needs to visit the theatre when you can get performances like this one!

There's a clever comment that could be made about this photo, but nothing's coming to me right this minute. So I leave the discussion open to anyone who wants to take a crack at it.

I've tried trice before to get a ring flash- one was got from ebay but was advertised wrongly so would not work on my camera and the other was very cheap from Poland and didn't work properly either. Today, my sigma one arrived- second hand from ebay again, but fantastic! I have only had 5 minutes in the garden with it- I was focussing on the bug here deep inside the tulip - a shot I never could have got on a windy day before hand held. i'm looking forward to getting some better shots with it!!

I went for a walk shortly after the hail and rained stopped, The rain started at roughly quarter to 7 in the evening and the hail started at 7. The hail lasted about 20 minutes, once it stopped the rain lasted for only a few minutes more.
Water coming from higher ground helped start a flash flood. The water at its peak got quite deep, a good few metres deeper than the creek was before the flood started and there was very little water remaining in the creek.
It was very dramatic, surreal even. What made it really surreal for me was that while i was photographing... i could still smell smoke being carried over the town from fires to the east by the wind.
