Cie. Willi Dorner presented the London premiere of fitting on May 24 & 25 as part of Greenwich Dances 2015. The performers were Esther Steinkogler, Henri Bruére-Dawson, Julien Degremont and Stéve Paulet. This whimsical and skilful work was first seen in 2012.
A short walk through the streets revealed five dancers jammed in awkward places by scaffold planks. The main event followed and was the construction (and rapid destruction) of a tower in and on which the dancers posed and performed.

This close-up provides a sort of 'before and after' look at some of the work involved in what could all too easily be overlooked as a 'mere' ceiling light fitting. In short, years of grime have had to be carefully cleaned up, before being prepared for painting.

What a great name!! My husband thought it might be cheating that the name sounded so much like a quilt, but I thought it was too good to pass up! And maybe not everyone has a favorite tree, but I definitely do and it's a Weeping Willow! I love the way the leaves drape so elegantly. This quilt is tall and slender at 12" x 18" plus 2" tabs. The backing fabric is a tan cotton print with sketchy architectural details that reminded me of things we saw while visiting southern California (Santa Barbara, San Louis Obispo and more), so I thought it was fitting for this piece to give it a little California flair. It is also a good backdrop for the nice light brown linen and the variety of buttons. I started with all tan buttons, but opted for a wider variety and I really like the sparkle of color in the border. It keeps your eye moving around the piece.
Also be sure to notice the 3-dimensional willow leaves along the bottom and edges of the branch. It adds to the layering effect of a real willow branch and bridges the border and center for a united piece.

I finally found some dresses and clothes for my Melrose - I even found a pair of high heel shoes! Yeah! :D
(From left to right)
Dress with a big ribbon - I found it in April at "Un Milione di Giocattoli". It's big enough to fit Melrose perfectly.
Fashionista Jean's dress - it fits almost perfectly, even though it's a bit short on her.
Barbie Fashion Pack flower dress - it doesn't close completely on the back, but it looks really cute on her,
Calimero t-shirt - I don't know which doll it belongs to, it's really big for a Barbie doll, On Melrose it looks like a pajamas t-shirt xD
Barbie top and All American Barbie overalls - the top fits well, the overalls don't close on the back and can be worn only as in the pic.

This washroom is reputed to retain the original sanitafy fittings from that era when this building was in use. The floor tiles certainly look it, though the urinals, the backing tiles and the flushing levers all appear a lot more recent. (New York, USA, Oct. 2006)
"The brand new Tuareg group “Tende Tranz” (with Tartit and Kel Assouf members) The group got inspiration for its name from the traditional Tuareg drum, the tende (mortar and goatskin) which traditionally has always been played by Tuareg women.
“Tende Tranz” goes back to the source of this culture bringing us a repertoire filled with songs coming from Niger and Mali in which the beauty of the desert, love, pain and nostalgia are being sung.
Fitting tradition, the wonderful voices of women are the center of attention."
