Some folks in the lab have temperature-sensitive specimens that can't go in the fridge. Warehouse buildings don't usually have good insulation & we're on the top floor, too! So we got in two portable air conditioner units.
We had the two insulation boards just pushed up against the window but even the couple of inches there was allowing heat to build up. So lab members measured & cut things into pieces that would fit snugly into the window yet still allow the window to be opened for those times we needed to look out onto the pavement below.
Temps in the lab immediately became more comfortable and functional.
I've started on fitting the carpet underlay inside the car. I'm using 6mm thick self adhesive soundproofing. Easy to fit but time consuming process off cutting a paper pattern first to get the shape right.
