Macro Mondays theme : Copper
For this week theme I thought it would be “fitting” to use these three copper pipe fittings. 😊
The length of the part on the forefront is 1 ¼” and the longest in the background 1 ¾”.
Thank you everyone for your visits, faves, and kind comments
IC 3107, 6200, & GTW 4900 scurry past the landmark that has become the Rick's Auto Sales lot. Tonight, they're in charge of the Cedar Rapids to Manchester, IA turn job L56791 31. Here they are heading north at 42nd St NE in Cedar Rapids, IA. I attempted (and failed) to get this exact shot with an original painted GTW geep earlier on in the month, so this Deathstar was a welcome shot at redemption, even if it was just a little less fitting. Taken on 3/31/20.
Finally! With the prediction of a warmer sunny day for a change, it was time to get out of town and explore some places we've never been to - one of which was Penman's Dam in Paris, Ontario. It wasn't very photogenic with spring growth yet to come, so I went for a monochromatic edit and added just a bit of cream tone to fit in with the predominantly brown tones of the original scene.

This is an older image form Caldwell Idaho, but seemed fitting to post. The real trick here is getting the image without the throngs of people that were there too. The dragon breathes fire, but I did not get the right kind of exposure to be able to use that image. Neat to see though.
I am sure everyone is familiar with the term “Kodachrome Skies”, but “Electromotive Skies” seems so much more fitting for this scene since the locomotives almost match the sky above them perfectly.
This is eastbound Soo Line train 402 crossing State Highway 20 near Honey Creek, Wisconsin the morning of May 18th, 1985 with EMD SD60 demonstrators #1 & #4 along with Soo SD40 #742.
These Blue & White beauties worked on the Soo in the Spring of 1985, and two years later they did place the first of three separate orders for this locomotive model that ended up totaling 58 SD60s and 5 of the safety cab SD60Ms. ~~ A Jeff Hampton Photograph ©
Bill Molony, President of the local Blackhawk Chapter of the National Railway Historic Society, poses in front of a Metra commuter train on the BNSF line in Hinsdale, Illinois. Donning the uniform of a station master from the past, Bill was recording the opening narrative of a documentary on railroading in Chicagoland by British freelance producer/videographer Clive Turner.

I spotted this beautiful light fitting at Montisfont Abbey. It was in a hallway with stairs nearby so I was able to shoot it against the window.
A lovely spring day hike provided a fitting tribute for memories of my Mom on Mother's Day.
I do enjoy wildflowers over the cultivated garden varieties.
Only fitting that my final daylight shot of the Conrail tri-lights would include an ex Conrail locomotive. Conrail's first SD50 6700, now rebuilt as SD40E 6324 shoves 10G eastbound as the blue hour descends upon the west slope
Iron pipe fittings found in my husbands workroom. I have to say I enjoyed this theme and trying to make something mundane like iron into a half way decent image. I think it turned out not too bad.
This caption may seem like like an antithesis but I think it describes this amazing sculpture perfectly. This work by Anish Kapoor titled ‘Dismemberment, Site 1’ is nestled in rolling hills above the Kaipara Harbour on Gibbs Farm. I couldn’t think of anything more unexpected to see out in the country and yet it somehow manages to fit in just perfectly like it was meant to be there. A definite favourite of mine.

Today is our 14th year anniversary so it's only fitting that I post a photo of the wife and I.
I met her at a SamGoody store in 1996. We both worked together and like I tell my wife, I put on my Casanova moves on her and 14 years later we're happily married w 2 wonderful kids....LOL
Life has been great having her by my side as my best friend, wife, partner and mother of my kids. Marrying her was the best choice I've made in my life. Not only is she a fantastic woman but her family are amazing people that I consider myself lucky to be a part of their lives. She's the rock of our family and my everyday inspiration to become a better person in life. I love you Bebes and thank you for giving me 14 wonderful years of my life and 2 beautiful children. I can't wait to redo this photo again in the future when we both look old and crusty....lol
Happy Anniversary Bebes

Inworld Group - Gifts every month! “MINIMALGroup”
The late afternoon and early evening's foul weather put a real damper in the planned night photo shoot that was planned to partake at the Mad River museum for the members of both groups. As the evenings dinner and events simmered down some shots were still to be had as the crew prepared for one more day at Bellevue before heading back home for the season.
One day last month we found a pelican rookery that was so totally accessible it was a wonder why I was the only bird photographer nearby. This close up of a brown pelican bill is just something I thought was really cool, and if it wasn't for the close proximity of the roosting bird your life would not be as complete as it now is for seeing it. Yeah, take that last line with a grain of salt - it just fit the bill.

We think our society is going in the wrong direction when people are valued based on what is on the outside, rather than on the inside.
For this image we wanted to portray a contradictory concept.
We have a ballerina sitting on a toilet while eating a cheeseburger. She has a tormented look on her face because society pressures her to be a beautiful size 0…but all she wants to do is eat cheeseburgers.

Loved this dress with its sweetheart neckline, high waist and net underskirt for fullness. Perfect for a very special summer occasion!
Alfredo ‘Dino’ Ferrari was Enzo Ferrari’s first son who worked as an engineer at the family business until his premature death at only 24.
As his son had worked to introduce a range of smaller, V6 engines for racing, so Enzo felt a fitting tribute would be to launch a smaller, V6-engined road car under the Enzo marque.
The Ferrari Dino was never officially sold as a Ferrari, although many dealerships added Ferrari badging from new. The original 206 GT was replaced after only two years by the larger engined 246 GT, which despite looking almost identical had no panels that were interchangeable with the earlier car.
I’ve been thinking how to do the oh-so-pretty Dino justice for a while and finally took the plunge.
