My bosses meet and speak with Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels about North Link and the need to accelerate the project.

Getting this dog to hold still for a nicely-composed picture is like trying to herd bees. It just doesn't work. I'd have better luck trying to wrestle an oiled-up boar. An oiled-up, rabid boar.

But here, she sits plainly and still, front paws crossed, as if waiting for a picture.

Perhaps she's found another outlet for her canine narcissism.

After many diversions, adventures, and wrong turns, the Ask For Directions is finally on the brink of arriving at its destination.

Don't worry, she has cheered up considerably since this shoot, and so have I. :)

December 2008: Berkeley, CA

Es war kein Frosch, und ich keine Prinzessin, die ihren goldenen Ball verloren hatte. Dennoch war die Verwandlung verblüffend und unwiderruflich nach dem ersten Kuss.

Das ist der symbolische Zweite...;)

Finally we got some time to shoot beloved 2007 Suzuki Gsxr750 K7.

and the temperature dropped by about 15 degrees.

~14 oz., 700 yards wool/mohair from Friends Folly Farm. It will probably become a vest for me... I always seem to need another layer on my core. Our house is cold!

Our first snow of the winter proper (Halloween snow doesn't count). We ran right out to frolic.

These are the first ripe tomatoes to appear in my garden -- I've been waiting all summer for them!

Uploaded with Flickup on iPhone. the firefighters in black are violetteville volunteers, while the ones in tan are arbutus volunteers .

I got tired of messing around with this plant and put it outside to either bloom or die. It finally came through! YAY!! Sometimes you have to threaten your houseplants to get what you want. Forget just talking to them.

My second Elephant in Ahmedabad! This time on my bike, I was able to turn around and shoot this one!!! I also like the two businessmen framing the picture. Remarkably they are the only Indians I ever saw wearing ties, I just recognized...

The Savoy event was cancelled last night and after visiting several disappointing clubs that advertised as Jazz clubs in search - I finally just Googled Jazz Clubs in SL and found one that actually played Jazz (Foxxies). By then it was midnight though...

Finally done and we'll have my best lunch at this job!

[commence nail biting]

At my old house before I moved, I had a family of Nuttall's Woodpeckers that came to my feeders every year for three years that I lived there. They would bring food to the babies in the nest and finally, bring the babies to the suet. I loved watching them. When I moved out of that house, I cried...not because I would miss my childhood house, but because I would miss my Nuttall's. Silly, I know.

Since that time, I have never seen a Nuttall's anywhere near my yard. I saw a little Downy once..but never again. It had been a year and nine months, but today, I looked outside to see this gorgeous Nuttall's at my suet feeder I had just put out earlier this week. I am sooo happy. I hope he comes back.

Terrible photo shooting through the cheap glass and screen, but I am so happy to have seen him in hopes he will return. Oh happy day!!

Room With A View

this is the view from our condo, captured with my cellphone right after we arrived. that's Molakai in the distance.

We are finally starting to see some color in our area. Much like the spring, Northern Virginia is quite stunning in the fall.

These are my neighbors' trees. The one on the right is even more spectacular today.

this bitch never picked up her present so I delivered!
