I've taken quite a few shots of this sticker in the past. Somehow they always come out out of focus or something like that. But this time, I finally got it!
I got tired of messing around with this plant and put it outside to either bloom or die. It finally came through! YAY!! Sometimes you have to threaten your houseplants to get what you want. Forget just talking to them.
My second Elephant in Ahmedabad! This time on my bike, I was able to turn around and shoot this one!!! I also like the two businessmen framing the picture. Remarkably they are the only Indians I ever saw wearing ties, I just recognized...
At my old house before I moved, I had a family of Nuttall's Woodpeckers that came to my feeders every year for three years that I lived there. They would bring food to the babies in the nest and finally, bring the babies to the suet. I loved watching them. When I moved out of that house, I cried...not because I would miss my childhood house, but because I would miss my Nuttall's. Silly, I know.
Since that time, I have never seen a Nuttall's anywhere near my yard. I saw a little Downy once..but never again. It had been a year and nine months, but today, I looked outside to see this gorgeous Nuttall's at my suet feeder I had just put out earlier this week. I am sooo happy. I hope he comes back.
Terrible photo shooting through the cheap glass and screen, but I am so happy to have seen him in hopes he will return. Oh happy day!!
We are finally starting to see some color in our area. Much like the spring, Northern Virginia is quite stunning in the fall.
These are my neighbors' trees. The one on the right is even more spectacular today.
Finally spring has rolled around, I finally am getting used to my t2i and I am ready to shoot some awesome raw shots!

Large parts of Sweden have more than half a meter of snow, while we only had a few small flakes, but now ..
i gave zoe an early birthday present today.... a fishing rod! her dad loves to fish, so naturally so does she. or at least she thinks she does! anyway, my husband tried and tried but couldn't catch one. then i took a few casts and finally caught this little guy, which we promptly threw back! zoe was so excited! looks like daddy's got a new fishing buddy.
this photo was taken on my brothers last day of school- this group of friends (TBS), had just finished their 2 years of a levels- i think i have captured the moment of freedom well.
