I finally finished this block after a month+ of it sitting around. I like the darker greys instead of my lighter option from the previous picture.

This has been sitting in my work basket for at least a year. I finally got it put together--it sounds strange to say "piece" when the blocks are so large.

The thing I love best about this quilt top is that I found the coordinating fabric which matches the embroidery in my fabric stash! That almost never happens although I could work it all out to begin with when I pick embroidery floss.

...made it to the Jimtown Store! I've been wanting to visit ever since I read an article in Sunset Magazine, more than a decade ago, and I just never seemed to make it. This trip, I finally went, and it was pretty darn fabulous: local food, little treasures, old fashioned candy, and just a neat, funky vibe. It felt like a little pilgrimage. :-)
