Passed on the mb-d10 for now, definitely my next pick up. Happy with the result though. Finally able to upgrade from my d40. I have to say, this is one heck of a camera.
Discovered Port St. Lucie isn't quite as provincial as it might seem at first, as we now have a classy coffee place with free wi-fi, and great organic coffee too it would seem.
Pure holidayparadise! Warm blue seas, warm weather and some tropical trees above the beach. My sister and I sure have enjoyed it.
As soon as I landed in Shanghai, I turned on my phone. Before leaving US, I registered my phone to the ATT international plan so I was able to continue the regular use of my phone. My friend told me to meet her in a particular station in Shanghai, so I bought my Round Trip Maglev and Metro Day Pass for 85 yuan at a booth. Unfortunately when I got to my destination, my phone was not working because I guess, in order to use your phone you must keep you cellular data on in order to recieve calls or text. So I turned that on and my received a whole bunch of messages from my friend. The first message she asked if she could meet me at another station, which was the station i initially almost got off at but I read her first text and went to the next station. SHe then texted me stating that she was worried cuz I was not replying. I finally told her that I had turned off my cellular data thinking that my phone would still work and was at the first stop she intended on meeting at and she said she would meet me there instead. I walked out of the station and found this view and and took a quick pic cuz my friend was calling me and we met downstairs at the station. It was an awesome feeling to be in another country seeing a famiiar face. And after that we went on our short excursion around downtown Shanghai.
....almost done with articles for today. In need of sunshine and Dutch wind, biking and some strategic shopping.
Have never been able to get a clear shot of this insect before, Wings and tail whir like a hummingbird, a face like a fish, body with markings like a bee, and it never stops moving! Any idea??
After about an hour of waiting, all of the higher priority trains have cleared. Accelerating through Elburn, Illinois, Union Pacific SD70ACe 8371 and AC4400CW 5948 lead a manifest train (possibly M-NPPR (North Platte, Nebraska, to Proviso Yard, Chicago, Illinois, manifest) based on it's size and make-up) eastbound as it continues on the last 40 or so miles of it's journey.
January 16, 2020 - I finally was able to get this shot without anyone in posing for their tourist shot! I was able to do it by waiting and being the last one back to the bus.
At the second time of asking, and after a full ten minutes on the platform, Susie (dressed as Rilakkuma) jumps.
So, after a very long pause. I finally got up the nerve to glue on the first of the rail pieces. As I feared it was really tricky and i actually ran out of big enough clamps.
It is the first part of November and my Maple Tree has finally changed. Texture added in iPiccy.

At last -- real downpour.. Madison had only 0.31inches of rain in June -- only 7% of normal June rain and breaking a 117-year record. Nothing in July until today, threatening area corn crops. I hope this hit area farms in time to do some good. The good news in Madison, at least, was that we had a light, gentle rain this morning, which wet the ground enough that tonight's downpour wouldn't all run off.
