Autumn mood around the Hücker Moor near Spenge, Ostwestfalen, Germany
The Hücker Moor is a nice little lake in the Herford area (Northwest Germany). Peat was cut here more than a century ago and created this lovely landscape. Today the place is a great location for wildlife and worth a trip for the local folks in all seasons.

A few days earlier, the tree on the left had just a little fall color on one branch and those bare tree were fully covered in leaves.
Nearly every time I visit a battlefield ground and see a leaf I think of the fallen soldiers. Raymond, MS.
Sand shifting beneath little feet often makes it hard to stay upright when climbing sand dunes. This little guy, trying to keep up with his mother is about to fall to the sand...all part of the fun.

I waited along the edge of a creek, as some Yellow-rumped Warblers came through in small groups, and they fed on the insects they stirred up. A few Kinglets and Vireo's appeared to be mixed in with the late travelling warblers.

From the Tunnel View lookout point as you enter the Yosemite valley, Bridalveil Fall is truly mesmerizing. The 620-foot waterfall against the granite walls of the mountains is one of the most spectacular sights in the USA.

Ozone Falls, near Crab Orchard, Tennessee.
With several days of chilly weather and a few inches of snowfall I visited a place I've known for a long time, this time in early January seeing it again with a different perspective of a nighttime long exposure.
Even shooting full frame 14mm it was all I could do to squeeze the entirety of the 105' falls into view.
The landscape was illuminated in the distance by the rising moon and an LED panel mounted on a boom as I hiked up to the top of the bluff on the right side of the image, and then again by extending the boom out over the top of the falls.
320 exposure stack over 138 minutes.

Back in September of 2011 ex-Soo road power could still be sometimes found roaming the CP system but catching matched sets of SD60's was pretty cool even then. I completely lucked into this pair of candy apple red ones leading CP 265 westbound through Kent Bridge, Ontario on the first day of a very memorable long weekend spent "up north".
