Though a recent forest fire has damaged the area, new colorful life already abounds.

From Wikipedia

Bridalveil Fall is 188 metres (617 ft) and flows year round.[2] The glaciers that carved Yosemite Valley left many hanging valleys which spawned the waterfalls that pour into the valley. All of the waterways that fed these falls carved the hanging valleys into steep cascades with the exception of Bridalveil Fall. Bridalveil still leaps into the valley from the edge of the precipice, although that edge has moved back into an alcove from the original edge of the valley. While Yosemite Falls seem to also fall into this category, the original course took the Yosemite Creek down a gorge to the west of its current location.[3] The primary source of Bridalveil Falls is Ostrander Lake, some 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) to the south.

When the wind blows briskly, the waterfall will appear to be falling sideways. During lesser water flow, the falls often don't reach the ground. Because of this, the Ahwahneechee Native Americans called this waterfall Pohono, which means Spirit of the Puffing Wind.[4]

For this card I used the envelope pattern and the find joy set from HA.

A Fall view at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

This is a "you-brought-your-macro-lens-here-so-use-it" kind of shot. It turned out nice though.

It was taken in the national park Thingvellir on a rainy day. I shot it from hand and with this shallow depth of field, it wasn't that easy. I still think that the L lens with stabilization would be useful. I have to be honest, I had my tripod with me, but was to lazy to adjust it for macro when it was raining. I would have had to put the centre column upside down and that's just too much work.

Shoes say a lot about a person. I'm curious to know what mine say about me? They're all gray with random patches of brightly-colored plaid underneath. Converse All Star, of course. ♥

One yellow leaf. Seeing this one yellow leaf on a tree made me feel hopeful that Fall is (finally) on its way.

The season that inspire so many ... Thanks to Lenabem Anna for texture.

life is a freefall

we're all falling

from the start

for love

for lies

for something to believe in

we fall forever

until someone catches us

but the fall doesn't stop

we just...

fall together

but sometimes

their arms get tired

they let go

we continue to fall

& they fall too

but no longer is it for one another

it's for one other

person to believe in

we aren't searching

we're falling for someone

who's worth the catch

in a split second they're there

in our arms

& in a familiar second they can be

just gone

but we don't stop falling

& our arms don't truly tire

they're always ready to catch someone new

even if we aren't

& we're always ready to wrap our arms

around a someone new

& even if we yet don't know it

life is a freefall

but the key is

to remember

we're not alone

we're all falling

a freefall

searching for something true

Autumn in the mountains is an interesting sight to watch, starting in the highest peaks, and slowly begins to drop down the sides. The leaves turning brilliant colors, then fading to brown and falling to the forest floor. I love this time of year, I spend hours, days even running around the mountains watching the colors shift. During this time of year there’s tons of traffic, so you have to start extra early. Despite the slow drivers appreciating the natural beauty, it’s easy to keep your head up, a smile on, because the sights around you deserve a little extra time to observe. On this adventure I caught a sunset as a the clouds began to drop down onto the high mountain ridges.

Our seasons are a bit delayed here in San Diego. We are just stating to get the fall colors. Mulberries and poplars are peaking in fall yellow now.

Take great care when using a digital camera. Careless use of the zoom while operating the shutter can lead to unexpected results.......like falling into hyperspace. Always read and fully understand the manual.

Here's a shot from a recent trip Harriman State Park in New York State. This is one of the roads in the park and it looked cool to me so I stopped and got the shot.

We found this gorgeous yellow mini-mum at Costco last fall. It threw out quite a few flowers before the Winter freezes hit, and it managed to make it through the bits of snow we saw here in December. After trimming away dead wood a few weeks ago, it started to really explode with new growth. I can't wait to see it show little yellow blossoms...
