This is an experiment with the wine glass and a strawberry. The setup is very simple. A wine glass on top of a glass sheet which that was on top of a black cloth to make it more reflective and then a flash light with a blue gel behind the table pointed on to the wall.

this photo is the genesis of my interest in photography
It was unintended, I saw this carrion, then I took my old camera.
I learned this was very magnificent. and it all went there.

A William Butler Yeats Poem
Never Give All the Heart
Never give all the heart, for love
Will hardly seem worth thinking of
To passionate women if it seem
Certain, and they never dream
That it fades out from kiss to kiss;
For everything that's lovely is
But a brief, dreamy, kind delight.
O never give the heart outright,
For they, for all smooth lips can say,
Have given their hearts up to the play.
And who could play it well enough
If deaf and dumb and blind with love?
He that made this knows all the cost,
For he gave all his heart and lost.

Less is more on the color. Converted to B&W then brought some color back selectively. Looking SW towards Steilacoom and Sunnyside Beach.

this is my second take on a previous work:
www.flickr.com/photos/13895571@N04/4313673905/in/set-7215...
i decided to give it a more "modern" look, and adding abit more flow to the design. my first take felt more rigid and traditional.
unlike previous works which relied on heavy lineworks direct your eyes to the two warriors, i decided to busy-up everything else surrounding them, so that they would stand out against a dark background.
here is the process:

"where were you the past 3 weeks?"
now you know.
[ november 4th - 10th, 2011 ]
this was taken at school, in my calculus room. there is a beautiful yellow tree that sits right in the courtyard and yesterday i decided that i was bringing my camera to school and snapping a few shots of it. (also, my 50mm 1.8 has been having major focus issues - i have to use manual all the time now....time to save up for a 1.4?)
this is krystal, thank you for letting me borrow your face. (thank you to zainab as well) afterwards we went to get food and then go to the end of year emotional-fest for field hockey. (in which we pour our hearts out and sob like no tomorrow)
it's such a weird feeling, knowing that a huge part of my life is over and done with.
long rant, sorry - but i'm also going to carnegie mellon this weekend to check out the school, i hope i like it!
This is a 3D image. You will need your red/cyan 3D glasses to get the effect. Remember that the red lens goes over the left eye!

We came across a mother and 4 kittens on March winter morning around 09:00. The mother and one bold kitten spent about an hour sunning themselves. They allowed us to observe and photograph them. They are awesome animals. This is one of my favorite shots
