The National Gallery of Art, is an amazing space for both enjoying art, and creating it.
This walk way leads to fun light every time, today the LED lights where off, so there was just natural light playing off the surfaces, which lead to some nice light trails.
I stopped my car at the crest of the hill, and started setting up for a long exposure shot just as the clouds broke up, rendering some fun light for a tone mapped image.
When your shadow is far bigger then you, and the road longer then one can see, its time for baby steps.
L had fun making footprints in the snow, late in the afternoon, enjoying the last light of the day. This was an outtake for day 177 of the 365 Project
This is my first photo of my Project 365,
which is 1 photo a day for the next 12 months.
Thanks for checking it out, constructive criticism is always welcome.

Here's to a wonderful night, full of laughter and smiles. The four of us celebrated our decade of friendship with the clinking of glasses.
Timer and tripod, and funny shades.
Hiking the Billy Goat Trail again today, and what a day. Crystal clear blue winter sky, windy, cold, and spectacular light. The Potomac River had a special glow today, as did living in the moment.
I stopped for espresso in a great spot, and will share a shot or two from that great coffee break.

Tonight I decided to get back into my daily practice of Ashtanga yoga, which for some odd reason I stopped doing. My body and soul where so happy to resume this gift to self. Nameh ( I bow) or "Aad Guray Nameh" is a beautiful mantra, and one that is dear to me. Here Snatam Kaur performs it in her angelic voice, pls enjoy as a gift to you who ever and where ever you are: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ6SdC5m70E

Just got back from Georgetown Cupcake in Bethesda, I had asked the girls to wait till i got the shot, they didn't listen ;)
The sun was out in all its glory today, melting snow and raising spirits all around. Spent the afternoon at Sugar Loaf Mountain Vineyard, enjoying some great vino. Driving home the long way, as the sun slipped into the clouds and lit up Sugar Loaf Mountain one last time, before moving on to those west.

Walking on Water at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina. Looking out on the Choptank River on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
Chilled chardonnay with friends on the lookout dock kicked off a 3 day get away.
Now typing this I am slowly sinking back to reality.
Back home, pool is open summer is here and green is here to stay, for now.
Down at creek, enjoying the hidden beauty under ones nose, and getting my feet wet.
I waited for the storms to pass, and set out to shoot a cornfield at sunset. On the way I noticed this high power clear cut I shot back on day 224 in the dead of winter. Today the post rain mist was just hugging the grass. It was so hot and humidI had to wipe my lens every shot, as I shot into the sun. Now thats a Maryland summer.

Driving home after work I got stuck in the local US Open (Golf Tournament ) traffic.
Instead of sitting in the traffic I opted to head down to great falls national park for a photo walk. I only made it this far before it started raining hard, at which point a turned around and walked back in the rain. I still sat in traffic on the way home, wet, relaxed and smiling.
The shadow is longer now, and only 65 days left in this amazing Project 365. Again waiting for the last minute to get a shot, the camera has been heavy lately. I have learned so much in these past 300 days, yet still know there is an ocean of a way to go, and loving it. Where this leads, who knows but one things for sure, I will always have a camera with me.
Some offices take coffee seriously, but in the end its not about the machine, but the Bean. Getting rid of cold white office light without getting the milk to yellow, can be an art form.
I'd stop drinking coffee, but I'm no quitter. ~Author Unknown
Reaching the ocean, on a wind and rain swept day, but happy to reunite with the Atlantic once again. Holding the camera at arms length and spinning fast as I clicked.

Summer is coming to an end. Late night coffee and drive, I notice a cool water fountain, we stop and enjoy the falling water, kids play, daddy shoots, day 31 in the books... night shot, slow water and its a Friday. Enjoy your weekend wherever you are.
Spring Fever here, I am so ready for those blooming colors.
My Birthday flowers now grace this 365 Project.
The contrast of color, and absence of it, on the human/statue face intrigued me here.

Flight map, my Grandfathers Military Binoculars, my other Grandfathers cigar box and my SBL wallet, all timeless and all treasures. Cheers ! to capturing time in a photo, like a small timeless treasure in a cigar box.
Limoncello, Villa Massa
Late afternoon in the shade on the deck, a quite moment, perfect for a limoncello shoot and shot.
Cheers ;)
The smell of coffee, music, a good friend, and the sound of dice rolling on wood, such moments are timeless and have been repeated over many a century.
Day 154 in the books.
Already seen, or maybe just a dream.
This dock reminds me of my grandparents dock, where i used to run down to reach the sea. Walking behind my kids feeling the wood move from their little feet...and I time travel, back in time.
