This wasn't the final sunset, this was but a fleeting moment, but a moment it was.

It was a fun time, she was watching tv, I was making her laugh, and jumping on the bed. In Black and white with high contrast, it does look dark and sinister like those fears and scary dreams.

Sinktum: The holy site in bathroom where water drains away from the home and then back to heaven after drainage, processing, time in the gutter streams ocean and finally evaporation. The circle of life, water.

When it just feels right... Great light, perfect motor, and tunes to match. Snap!

Light in Motion, or still motion in light...

As the snow came down I set out on a walk into the woods, this is the bridge from the urban world back to nature.

Rain and stormy weather, so no outdoor shoot today. The light was good in the sun room, and the girls wanted to get dressed up in daddy's Military Fatigues and Jump helmets, looks better on them... I hope they never have to wear them.

Just one of those hall ways, sucks you in and there is no way out.

"Last thing I remember, I was

Running for the door

I had to find the passage back

To the place I was before

Returning home, crossing the bay bridge in a storm. once passed the bridge you are land locked or eastern shore bound, depends which way you head lights are pointed. This drive, I couldn't help but look in the rear view mirror.

Walking down Bethesda Row in search of espresso, a shot that is pulled from the heart, a shot that wont end up in a paper cup. Looking for a place where you hear the tamper cling on the rim, the milk frothing and the machine release its gift of golden brown fluid as the aroma of perfection fills the room... well that didn't happen, and so the search goes on.

Late night, driving, music, coffee and rain.

20c + today, sunny and warm, breaking away from the cold winter just for a bit and tasting spring. Self portrait basking in white light. View On White

Shot: lacking any external flash, I opted for the natural light. I placed a white bed sheet, and lay down on the floor looking up at the cam, over exposed the shot a bit, burned the face and arms in aperture, added curves, transferred to B&W.

Ghosts Dancing in the wind in preparation for Halloween. While driving i noticed this Ghost gathering, made a mental photo note, and came back in the afternoon with my daughter and shot these mystical ghosts dancing. I retouched the poles they were sitting on...shhhh don't tell.

Looking up, reaching, never getting there, but keep trying. Never give up painting the sky.

Late night, tired and needing a shot, I lay my kilt on the bathroom floor, and had Tal pose for some shots, while i composed and focused, then i wiggled under the tripod to do this self portrait.

Climbing, Virginia side of the potomac (view from Maryland)

Woke up early, left the cozy tent, and set out to greet the day on the shores of Assateague Island.

A study of motion, watching my dog keep his pace well into his 12th year of life is inspiring, such a fantastic breed and amazing friend. I know he won't be here with us for long, but each day is a wonder, and so grateful for this amazing friendship.

After a quick lunch, looking up. Trying to follow up on rule 1, and 2... Get close, Then closer, and thats the day shot.

Atop Sugerloaf Mountain, after some good wine down at the vineyard. Good light, and great background, moment captured.

Driving at night, light passes by and time sure does fly. This shot is from a more cinematic perspective, noisy and dark.

While looking for a fresh new slope we came across this great snow man, suddenly the sisters were quite, as they gazed up at the great guardian of the slopes.

Another snow day here, and back from work early so I can be a kid again, sledding laughing and having a great time with my amazing daughters.

Walking along the creek, enjoying the beautiful snow blanket that was set overnight. It was such a beautiful sunny morning, here at the bend of the creek I stood, sharing the warm rays of sun with the naked trees before walking back. Press L

Looking out over Washington DC

Ending the day on the banks of the Potomac river, is a fantastic way to say farewell to light and welcome night.

HDR, tonemapped 3 shots for this one, still trying to find a good balance for tonemapping.

Great big sky, and great big Milk cows.

I just loved the look on this beautiful cow.

No MILK for you!

Little Stony Man hike, with my 7yo, she did great on another great hike. We sat for a bit at the peak of the Little Stony Man Trail watching the guys set up the climbing gear in the cold wind. The view was perfect, as was the company.

"Smoking gun" The evidence found at the scene of a crime. Quack!

Headed down mid day to DC, and walked around the WWII and FDR Memorials. Mid day is not the best for shooting, but still some good shadows and shapes. The FDR Memorial is a great space, moving and thought provoking even for the little ones. Tip: go at night, lots of waterfalls and great light.

Fast moving clouds, after a storm,
