Empty shops on the Centre Dandenong Road shopping strip in Dingley. The strip was fully occupied for years before a difficult retail climate in recent times. High rents in this strip have had a major impact here, according to this article from the Moorabbin-Kingston Leader.
Empty clothing shop - prior to that it was a food outlet called 'The Village Gourmet Lunch Box'

and empty tables. I came across this scene in a small, detached, conservatory at Wray Castle close to the shores of Lake Windermere. The original shot took in a much larger field of view but I prefer this close crop which highlights the lines of the chairs / tables and the great light flooding through the large storey height windows. 9 exp HDR.
Give it a go in black. Hit L. Thanks for looking.
view large size. stark emptiness among the cluster of monasteries in the heritage tabo gompa complex.
though you can appreciate single image; to enjoy this stereo (3d) image, first just go through any one of the image like a normal photo (please, see the largest size, going through 'all sizes' button). when you are ready to see in 3d …
- concentrate on the centre line of 2 images for about half a minute
- when your eyes get little tired, try to focus your vision as if you are lost in deep thoughts, keeping the direction of vision towards the centre line
- a 3rd image will appear, pushing aside those two (if not yet, try to force your pupil nearer to each other by looking at the bridge of your nose)
- adjust your vision to see only 3 images (not four)
- concentrate on the 3rd middle image, the stereo one.
hope you could see the 3rd image and enjoy. if not, try hard; i promise, it’s worth that little pain in your eyes!

Utah empties roll east, it's neat to still see the searchlights protecting the control point. So many classic signals disappearing in the last few years.

Today I photographed a vacant Hudson home in its original condition with its 1960's decor and in the backyard was an empty pool. I couldn't help myself I just had to get in it.
It would have been fun to have a a skate in actually.. Bugger the board wasn't in the car. I'll grow up one day ;-)
Ye remnant of the brave!
Who charge when the pipes are heard:
Don't think, my lads, that you fight for your own,
'Tis but for the good of the land.
And when the fight is done
And you come back over the foam,
`Well done,' they say, `you are good and true,
But we cannot give you a home.
For the land we want for the deer,
And the glen the birds enjoy,
And bad for the game is the smoke of the cot,
And the song of the crofter's boy.

A very serene yet almost eerie view at the top of Rivington Pike in Lancashire, UK.
This kind of environment is quite common in the Pennine mountains, which Rivington pike is related to, however it is a human construction.
Its theorised that before the first Humans arrived in the area, the Pennines would have been blanketed in an ancient oaken woodland.
Empty Chairs, the new artistic installation of Terrygold, is a walk among the many empty chairs that Covid has left us. Every empty chair is a story that brings back memories, thoughts and some tears.
When I went out early this evening I was hoping to get a couple of colorful shots of the setting sun. I had no idea that I would come across a sunset of a completely different sort. Although it was already getting dark, I had to try to take a photo of a scene that created an emotional reaction in me as soon as I saw it.
Neighborhoods change. Families move in, children go to school and grow up, move away, and the empty nesters clear out the 'clutter' to make way for the next wave. I'm still not sure if this is sad, melancholy, or poignant, or if I've managed to capture any emotion at all.
Maybe Stevie Nicks said it best:
Well, I've been 'fraid of changin'
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I'm gettin' older, too
I'm gettin' older, too
I like share with you the steps of a project , of a set.
So here you can see the different shots used to create the first image.

Saturday 30th April 2022 marked the first day of passenger train operation on the recently reconstructed section of the Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway between Stonehenge Works and Mundays Hill. Passenger trains have not venture along this part of the line for about four decades.
The reconstruction of the line is covered in this album
