Ye remnant of the brave!

Who charge when the pipes are heard:

Don't think, my lads, that you fight for your own,

'Tis but for the good of the land.

And when the fight is done

And you come back over the foam,

`Well done,' they say, `you are good and true,

But we cannot give you a home.

For the land we want for the deer,

And the glen the birds enjoy,

And bad for the game is the smoke of the cot,

And the song of the crofter's boy.

Today I photographed a vacant Hudson home in its original condition with its 1960's decor and in the backyard was an empty pool. I couldn't help myself I just had to get in it.

It would have been fun to have a a skate in actually.. Bugger the board wasn't in the car. I'll grow up one day ;-)

A very serene yet almost eerie view at the top of Rivington Pike in Lancashire, UK.

This kind of environment is quite common in the Pennine mountains, which Rivington pike is related to, however it is a human construction.

Its theorised that before the first Humans arrived in the area, the Pennines would have been blanketed in an ancient oaken woodland.

This field is bursting with buttercups and clover, but going to seed with thistles and nettles. A fox came by as I waited for the train, emerging from the bushes and into the sun, shade on the right mercifully subduing the wagon with graffiti (which has been removed in this revised version, see Comment below)

An old glass jug ... long empty . It looks like it might have carried vinegar or perhaps oil.

When I went out early this evening I was hoping to get a couple of colorful shots of the setting sun. I had no idea that I would come across a sunset of a completely different sort. Although it was already getting dark, I had to try to take a photo of a scene that created an emotional reaction in me as soon as I saw it.

Neighborhoods change. Families move in, children go to school and grow up, move away, and the empty nesters clear out the 'clutter' to make way for the next wave. I'm still not sure if this is sad, melancholy, or poignant, or if I've managed to capture any emotion at all.

Maybe Stevie Nicks said it best:

Well, I've been 'fraid of changin'

'Cause I've built my life around you

But time makes you bolder

Even children get older

And I'm gettin' older, too

I'm gettin' older, too

I sort of fell off the wagon...wedding planning sucked me into its endless black hole. But I'm determined to catch up, so I've been taking two shots a day: one from where I left off in November, and one from January. Soon enough, I'll be back to regular scheduled programming. And I've decided not to post all my pictures, because frankly, some of them are entirely uninspired.

I also want to mention that I've been processing my images with Sara Lynn Paige's "Reminisce" photoshop actions, and they are GLORIOUS.

Empty car dealership on South Tacoma Way (Highway 99) in Tacoma, Washington

Empty Sky is the official New Jersey September 11 memorial to the state's victims of the September 11 attacks on the United States. It is located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City at the mouth of Hudson River across from the World Trade Center site.

The color tone in this picture is example of playing with white balance on the field. I was clicking with warm tone as it was almost a golden hour of the day. However I was not pleased with the color tone of the picture in warm tone.

I thought of try out something different and reduce my temperature to colder tone. And it turned out well as per my choice. I liked the blue tone in the picture. The blue sky, Blue glass of the Freedom tower at WTC and blue reflection of sky color on the still wall is amazing to me.

It was really great experience clicking the freedom tower from this place. It was bit of emotion and excitement for me. I wanted to click the tower after sunset with some lights on in the building. Unfortunately windy condition in cold day didn't allowed me to wait. It was so cold for us that we couldn't wait till sunset. Hoping to visit this place in spring to get night shot.

Hope I made justice to this photo.

The Anaheim Garden Walk, behind the anchor restaurants on the first floor, is even emptier than I remembered it. This used to be the third-floor food court. There's nothing there anymore.

This was a rather strange weather day. An inverted trough parked itself over central Alberta, extending from a developing low in Saskatchewan. This surface trough first brought a few non-severe thunderstorms, which were then followed by several hours of wind-driven heavy wet snow and whiteout conditions.
