Note - In case you were thinking of trying for the same angle, I went back only 2 weeks later and the trackside undergrowth is already obscuring the trains up to bogie level

I have abandonment issues and because of that I tend to put up walls and make it hard for people to get in. But that also makes it hard for me to see the people who are trying to get in. I wanted to convey that in my image: my tendency to focus so intensely on my loneliness that I don't see those around me trying to get in.

I also am tentatively back on flickr. I'm the same Kathryn Juarez Photography but I created a new account to start over. I have had a not so healthy relationship with flickr in the past and so I wanted to avoid posting to it while I rediscover myself and my art. I didn't want to get sucked into posting images and then loving or hating them depending on how many likes or comments I got. It really tends to suck me in and slowly destroy me.
But I decided to come back, start a new page, and only post the images I absolutely love and am proud of. I decided to make a flickr account because I AM proud of this image and it means a lot to me. Why not share it with the world? So I won't be posting too often and I won't post everything I create. But feel free to keep up with my blog if you feel so inclined. I will post everything I create there.

I lost three of my dearest friends within a single year. Each of these losses was preceded by a long, draining and ultimately hopeless battle. The memories of them become inexorably abstract, overshadowed by daily challenges. The sense of profound emptiness remains.
Empty Sky is the official New Jersey September 11 memorial to the state's victims of the September 11 attacks on the United States. It is located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City at the mouth of Hudson River across from the World Trade Center site. Designed by Jessica Jamroz and Frederic Schwartz, it was dedicated on Saturday, September 10, 2011, a day before the tenth anniversary of the attacks.

Empty shops are a common sight on UK High Streets, but many vacancies are relatively short lived - the shops are soon in use again although in these difficult times, the new business might be short lived.
This collections portrays retail outlets that have been empty on a long-term basis. In some instances for many years. At some time, all these shops have housed thriving businesses. Yet now, for some reason, they are empty and in some instances falling into a state of disrepair and dilapidation.
Each shop has its own story to tell. Some are completely empty, others seem to have stopped trading suddenly and appear like the Marie-Celeste, still with stock in the windows. In many cases, we can tell easily from the faded signage what business was last operated from the shop. Others are a complete mystery with faded blinds or shutters and all signs removed.
Luciano Forli Motors is over.
For many years, at the SW corner of 134 Parliament Street at Richmond Street East is a dealership and garage / bodyshop specializing in vintage Mercedes-Benz cars called Luciano Forli Motors.
When I came by in January 2021, the building has a sign saying the site has been sold for high-rise development, yet in April 2021, the sign has been changed to commercial space for lease. Likely the new landlord is looking to lease the space while applying for zoning change.
The other day I passed by the place and was a bit sad to see that the business has gone and the building is now empty.
