Valley of Dreams, in the Badlands of NW New Mexico. The hoodoos are mostly mudstone hoodoos, with a softer clay like base and a harder rocky cap. This was taken with a Nikon 14-24 mm lens at 15 mm, f 2.8, 25 sec., and ISO 12,800. This is a single exposure.

Still can't get over the perfection of this place and the sunset I witnessed that day.
Even though it was my 3rd time in Iceland, it was my first time visiting this beach. The incredible conditions made it easily one of my favorite moments of the whole vacation :)

We returned to our holiday home in the far north of Lancashire today. I'd had a small operation for skin cancer last week, and the stitches were removed this morning. So we quickly packed and headed north. There had been quite a bit of rain up here - something they badly needed. The roses had taken a battering, but I couldn't resist taking a shot of this one. It's a patio rose called Living the Dream. Very appropriate!
