In the abandoned ghost town of Bodie California, stands this Rusty legacy as a part of the History of the American Dream. I take comfort in knowing that all the American classic car lovers out there will gaze at this old beauty and continue to dream...aching to bring her back to life. The Dream lives on.

We returned to our holiday home in the far north of Lancashire today. I'd had a small operation for skin cancer last week, and the stitches were removed this morning. So we quickly packed and headed north. There had been quite a bit of rain up here - something they badly needed. The roses had taken a battering, but I couldn't resist taking a shot of this one. It's a patio rose called Living the Dream. Very appropriate!
Krystina and I decided that our dream dates would be here. A picnic, a sunset, and dancing on the dock.
Imagine... A little wooden shack nestling amongst the sand dunes along a deserted stretch of beach. The only sounds, the gentle lapping of the waves on the shoreline. A morning spent beach combing, bringing back the precious finds and decorating the hut's one windowsill. An evening sitting in quiet contemplation with a good book and only a candle for lighting. A good meal, perhaps fish you've caught yourself and cooked over an open fire on the beach. Sleep, restful deep sleep, lulled by the sounds of the waves, dreaming of a little wooden hut by the sea... Imagine...

Just like in Australian Aboriginal dreaming, in (western) garden dreaming too there is a communication with creation and the beginning of all life. This communication is on a deep and primal level and includes our ancestors, all of life that has come before us and it places the gardener in this almost eternal cycle of the coming and going of life. Touching the soil means in a symbolic sense to reach out for the true home, the one most of us have lost. Moon over Dream Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. The great thing about shooting RAW instead of JPEG is it affords a lot more flexibility when post-processing. Because I wasn't able to take a few shots and bracket for an HDR image, I had to push the RAW file to its limits.

I just typed in the prompt "A highly detailed abstract Art photo with wavy paint like lines and glossy bubble structures. colors in Red, Yellow and Black"
My idea was to create an abstract image representing rivers and gold nuggets.
With summer rolling in and only five weeks left of work this year, I'm dreaming of the perfect getaway.
