It's a long weekend here in Australia and I'm spending it being incredibly lazy. It's also a very grey day, the clouds looking heavy with expected rain, so I'm hanging out beach-side in SL instead.

My dress, Allegra, with a whopping L$15 price tag, comes from the Easter hunt over at Ricielli. There are 20 eggs to collect throughout the store, with a beautiful pastel selection of dresses, tops, pants and lingerie all at L$15 each.

One should think that a dream fulfilled is a dream killed. If, however, the dream refuses to go away (wet or not), does it mean that there are expectations only dreams can meet? Be this as it may, the place shown here is a new and still unfinished development, Ayia Nappa Marina in Cyprus. Egyptian and Cypriot venture capital has gone into this project and the idea is to attract an international and super-rich jet set to moor their yachts here and buy a piece of luxurious real estate too. The sense of exclusivity, and the life-style entitlements going with it, are actually very important selling points. The "hoi poloi", the tourists from Europe's cities, people without money, squeezing on the beaches, driving quad bikes through Ayia Nappa (almost bare-bodied) and being rather noisy in the pubs at night, this low-class section of the populace is not wanted in or even close to the Marina. The dream, then, is carefully managed here to avoid any unpleasant collision with an alternative reality. Fuji X-Pro3.

Tick Tock! Tick Tock!

You are running late for a very important date in your dream.

Nothing is worse than running late for an important engagement. Dreaming you are late can mean things are not going according to plan, your time is running out for something that you wanted to have or aspire to in your life. Whatever it is that is creating this sense of urgency in your life, it is time for you to invest more time in accomplishing it. Time to make a plan, and if you’ve already done that, it is certainly time to revise the one you have made.

Thanks so much for taking a closer look!

I'm going to be away, again, for a couple of days. I'll see y'all when I get back!

Captured in the Atlantic Ocean: Near Castaway Cay, Bahamas.

Found another one while rummaging through the archives again. ;) I'm not really sure why I never got around to processing this image before, as I captured it during a cruise we took a little while back.

This particular image was captured from Deck-4 aboard the Disney Dream, shortly after we left Castaway Cay in the Bahamas. This happened to be our last night on-board, and (almost as a parting gift) we were treated to a beautiful twilight sky while sailing back to Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Dream or reality...sometimes it seems like we're living in a dream, but reality comes back to forcefully present us with all the daily problems...from which we often want to escape by taking refuge in dreams...which sometimes seem strange and difficult to understand.

Thanks for all the kind comments and faves. My Flickr has continued to be somewhat erratic but so far so good today so I live in hope of a permanent fix ;)

Soulis: Dreaming of a House Behind Big Flowers.

I often dream of owning a place like this. Something small that I could fix up and call my own. A place where the walls have stories to tell. A place where I could sit on the deck reading, or knitting, while sipping a coffee and watching the world go by. A place where the birds would come and visit and the beach was just a few feet away. A place to escape my cookie cutter reality of suburbia. A place to dream.

Delonix regia is a species of flowering plant in the bean family Fabaceae, subfamily Caesalpinioideae native to Madagascar. It is noted for its fern-like leaves and flamboyant display of orange-red flowers over summer. In many tropical parts of the world it is grown as an ornamental tree and in English it is given the name royal poinciana, flamboyant, phoenix flower, flame of the forest, or flame tree (one of several species given this name).

the lure of distant lands...

: D

The dream of life was dreamt most beautifully by the ancient Greeks (according to J.W. Goethe). I am using my plaster cast head of the Olympian Hermes here as a photographic punchball. By putting a splash guard (a kitchen utensil - apologies to my wife) in front of the statue, splashing water on it and illuminating the water droplets separately, I created the conditions for the Bokeh of this image.
