Coming up
Going down
Turning left
Turning right
In a circle
Inside a spiral
In between
On the fence
Running fast
Breathing deep
Letting go
Holding on
Walk toward the unknown
Believing in what is shown
Night fades to day
Riding the wave of emotion
There is no potion
No cure
You have to ride it with your heart pure
was messing around with my dreads trying to come-up with a medusa style up-do and this is what it looked like when I was all done.
The left at 6.5 months. I ripped about 8 of my dreadlocks in half last week, most on the left side. They had gotten really fat and uncomfortable so I just ripped them in half. So glad I did. They feel way better and look better.
Step 3: Make it pretty. I used Garnier Fructise leave-in conditioner and frizz treatment (b/c boy was this thing frizzy. It looked like a rat's nest), water, and good old-fashioned spit.
wig is a Dollmore fake fur wefted wig, size 7-8 in mixed brown and black colors
Since everyone else had taken a phone shot, I figured it was my turn.
It was a happy phonecall, believe me.
She was there for me in hard times
She was there for me in good times
She shared her sorrows with me
I cried upon her shoulder
She told me of ancient times
Times before words
Times before angry bitter words
Times when you can breathe
Times when you can sing
Times when love was the most important thing in this world
Breathing in sync with the rhythms
Mother Earth inhales and exhales
She stretches and yawns
Rejuvenating a whole world is not easy
Go outside in nature and hear her message
I curled my dreadlocks with drinking straws!

This pic is from late August 2005. I put my hair up in a style called bantu knots. After I took them down a few days later, my locks were very curly. The curls lasted about a week.
