May 12, 2007 --- Thirteen days old
We went hiking today. Bandanas are my best friend right now. I like this one. Thanks to the husband for taking this photo for me.
This pic is from late August 2005. I put my hair up in a style called bantu knots. After I took them down a few days later, my locks were very curly. The curls lasted about a week.
This pic is featured on my blog Dread Mama
I added the Jamaican flag, plus the invocation typically cried by Bob Marley at the beginning of his concerts.
Its one months hy of a year since i started on this journey. It has been interesting to say the least and I do so relish the time, and I am looking forward to many more years with them as they change and grow even more beautiful than ever, and as i grow with them, though i can not say I may end up being as attractive.

Autorretrato

You don't have to close your eyes to see
The magick is in front of you
Begging to be seen
Begging to be heard
Begging to be felt
Waiting for you
Opening your mind is a process
You decide the limitations
You don't need complications
Letting the information flow
Within you the knowledge remembered
Tune in to your heart
That is the first place to start
The time has come
Be strong sensitive one
Come with me and let us beat our drum
They tell us we are dumb
We know better
Watch what you say
Be careful of the lies that stay
Can you be true
Is that what an immortal would do
Feel free to care
Feel free to run bare
Within the breeze everything is fine
Stay alive
Don't go blind
Time after time
I will be here
In my everlasting love sphere

These are the 3 products I'm currently using for my dreads. Organic Root Stimulator Lock and Twist Gel for retwisting every week, Jamaican Mango and Lime Locking Gel every once in a while (because it smells so good), & Ultra Sheen to grease my scalp.
Life will twist and turn you
Life will break and burn you
Circling in out of cycles
We take the bad and learn
We take the good and soar higher
Coming out a bit bruised
But awakened to the truth
We both knew it would come
That there would be changes for everyone
The more you resist
The pain will persist
Surrender and be strong
The pain only lasts for so long
a bunch of years ago at my mom's house in peabody. i kinda think my dreads should have stayed about that length - it's the only stage i really miss them at. i wonder if that says something about where i was in life at that point or that hair's appropriateness to that part of my life.

for an etsy person. She wanted two ranibow fades, very thick and the other three she gace me freedom, as long as they went togther and matched her hippie personality.
so, I made the one in the middle, which is every color I had in the rainbow spectrum, marbled together. and then a marbled cool tone, fading from purple to blue to green, and the a marbled warm tone fading from yelow to orange to red.
