Bassano del Grappa is a beautiful little Italain town and the aerial view from Monte Grappa is definitely unique when surrounded by fog and covered in snow. Episode 12 is so much fun because it combines this unique place with the unique artistic style of Sara Lando. After all, it’s not every day I get transformed into an evil clown. ;)

Definitely Dreaming - 2020 Photo Project

Week 9 of 52

Definitely the best vegan donuts I have ever had...their vegan nutella and custard was out of this world...a close second would be Voodoo Doughnuts but there are more vegan options there and the donuts are named after bands, which is super cool. Highly recommended if you are in Los Angeles!

Three of my favourite things to shoot. Pencils always make a photogenic image, not sure this captures that feeling but wanted a wider view instead of just a macro.

I seem to be leaving this later and later evey week...late Sunday afternoon...remembered as the light was starting to fade...a little close for comfort. Hope my timing improves next week...I do like next week's theme 💙

The last - and definitely most minimal - of this little red & white road marker series.

Hokkaido, Japan

I wrote a blog post about my trip to Hokkaido if you'd like to know more about the trip. As well, if you'd like, take a look at all my images from two trips to Japan .

Night comes early under the huge Pine trees flanking the Moyne River at the Port Fairy Garden Caravan Park. The Caravan is catching the last of the setting sun rays. For Definitely Dreaming week theme of: Night Time

Definitely the last in the series from the misty conditions in Glen Affric last Wednesday.

10 week old English Springer Spaniel Puppy!

Wishing all my Flickr Friends a Good Weekend :-))

Definitely magical, my topper but not my rabbit.

Definitely Dreaming - Week 52 Outdoors

Well 2022 whistled by, and for once, I managed to see this challenge through to the end. And I gave myself the added challenge of taking all the snaps on the beach.

Today was very windy, although not as cold as it was a week back. The white stuff is spume, and totally natural at high tide when the wind causes the waves to crash down on the shingle beach.

This challenge is over on Facebook, and this was going to be it's last year, but a new admin is taking over, and there will be a 52 challenge next year.

Definitely my biggest project, both in term of parts used and time spent on the design. It represents a geisha from Ghost in the Shell (the 2017 live action movie). Her mask can open in 7 panels to reveal a frightening robotic face.

The tricky part was to make a convincing face while the mask is closed, but thin enough to keep some space behind it for the pearl gold part. I spent a long time working on the hinges, trying to limit the space between the panels when they are closed. Because of those constraints, some proportions are a bit off. I'm still very happy about with how it turned out, as it's quite far from what I'm used to building.

Reference pictures: mask closed, mask open.

And the opening scene of the movie that features this character.

definitely the fairest of them all

This member of Family Muscicapidae, the Old-Word Flycatchers, AKA Chats. From Wikipedia I get that this bird is most common in Northern Asia from Findland and Siberia to Japan and sometimes Alaska. Suffice it to say, not common in Santa Cruz. It was raining when I took this so the image is as sketchy as the mini bio I've provided. It has been here for at least a couple of weeks. I am pretty amazed that anyone not specifically looking for this was able to find, photograph and ID it. That person was definitely not me! This one has the markings of a juvenile or female. There actually is some minimal blue on the dorsal side of the tail. The adult male has blue that is on top, not restricted to the tail only.

Definitely the last time that I rehash this shot, honest.

Definitely not easy to get to this spot but the rewards are well worth it!.....we sat here and watched some Marmots play for about an hour!

I'll be back out here in a month so figured it's time to get in the mood with a few more from last year.

I definitely want to spend a bit more time over on this side of the railroad though I can't imagine ever topping this moment. I shared the money shot long ago here: flic.kr/p/2pa8o2J but here's another frame as the scene began to unfold with CN train U7918203, a load of taconite from Minntac headed to Two Harbors behind a brace of C40-8s led by CN (blt. Jul. 1989 as CNW 8511). One of a large group retired by UP more than 23 years ago they were Citirail lease units for a time until the CN purchased the entire fleet between 2010-2012, and later modified a portion of those with straight air for Iron Range ore train service. Alas their time seems to be about up as a string is already in storage at Proctor and according to knowledgeable locals by this time next year they should all be gone from this service replaced by rebuilt wide nose Dash 9s running in a 1x1 DP configuration.

The heavy train is swinging around the curve to begin the climb up toward the Hwy 44 crossing at MP 22.7 southbound on the Iron Range Subdivision. Modern day CN's designation for the route pays homage to the historic former Duluth and Iron Range Railroad which built this route and saw its first load of ore roll south from the Soudan Mine in 1884 to what was then called Agate Bay. In 1938 the road was merged into the Duluth, Missabe and Northern both long owned by US Steel to officially create the legendary Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Railway.

Definitely better in monochrome

This is at Sabines&Johannas home where we celebrated Johannas second birthday

Really a nice party with good condition for barbecue.

The sparrows have built their nest in an ashtray

Definitely Dreaming 'fruit' theme, week 3/52.

Definitely a good year for duck, geese and crane family photography !

Hope you all are enjoying the images.

Thanks for viewing, faves and comments are always appreciated !

Definitely a challenge this theme... sadly I prefer lots of shadows!!

For Definitely Dreaming week 32 theme of landscape is the view from the Clonbinane overpass looking north as the Hume Freeway cuts through the land. The morning became bright, frosty and misty as we drove north to meet up at Ngambie. A lovely day out with my FFM friends in the fresh air.

definitely recommend that L key...

Fancy looking up and seeing this beautiful autumn display!

definitely have a challenge w/this technique:)

Definitely worth a visit. Unique shops all beautifully laid out. So pretty and lovely place to sit and take in the harbour

maybe?

Its crazy how much ive improved over the years being on here! Thanks for all your support :)

The usual high mountain minimalism that always attracts my attention.

Title derived also by the fact that in two days I've met only three passing alpinist.

Self-timer shot taken just before sunrise on the Stockji glacier (3.600 m), Pennine Alps, Switzerland.

To my left, the ridge that rises to the near Tête de Valpelline (3.802 m).

Definitely my best ever shot of a kingfisher! This sculpture by Ptolemy Elrington is part of the ROCLA Art Trail in Milton Keynes (Redhouse Park's Own Collection of Lasting Art). Many sculptures are made from recycled materials and reflect local wildlife.

definitely NOT a small bird...too bad for my fixed long lens!

Female satin bowerbird (Ptilonorhychus violaceus) fossicks for green shoots and displays the striking blue of its eyes.

Definitely the most organic looking build I've ever come up with, I think it will lend itself nicely to playing around with lighting. I've reworked a few of the rocks in the background (not that they show in this angle) and planted a bunch more grass.

For Definitely Dreaming Week 31 theme of Sky. A look back to autumnal chill in the morning over the Tamar River, Launceston. I haven't been able to get out into the clear sunrises and sunsets recently while I am trying to recover from an injury.

on the top of the dolly wish list since I discovered Blythe, and she's everything I thought she'd be. Absolutely beautiful!
