This glacier included into 10 places that should definitely visit in the world. It located in eastern Alaska, USA and part of Yukon, Canada. It is the largest tidewater glacier in North America. The Glacial face is about 122 m (360 feet) high and its long is about 122 km (76 miles). It is an active glacier and one of the few glaciers in the world which is growing, it has been advancing for more than 100 years.

The glacier routinely calves off icebergs the size of a ten-story building.

But the main impression - this is the unique beauty of its ...

I definitely love the aesthetics of the eights interleaved in a race sweepeing so close, darting throuhgh the race course. Let me note that to get these colors I've just increased slightly the dynamic contrast, bleaching the garish green of the grass, which was much more preeminent in the picture than in reality. I worked on the contrast of the water surface, and selectively applied a yellow graduated filter to it, in a moderate percentage (like 30%) and exluding the white buoy on the right, which is essential to balance the composition. Worked with LR5, Viveza and Color Effex Pro.

while it was still dark we had gone to a simple bird hide to be there before the flocks of Meyer's parrots and African green pigeons arrive at the clay eating site at sunrise.

While we were waiting we heard some noise behind us and after a while we knew these were warthogs ( definitely safer than some other possibilities...)

The family of warthogs came closer and had picked up our scent but they had no clue where we were.

The huge male in this image was walking in front and stopped nearby to look in our direction.

You can clearly see both set of tusks of which the very sharp small ones are used for fighting other warthogs or for defense against predators. The larger ones are used for digging etc.

[Sept. 2007] Quite possibly my favorite shot of the whole week*, taken by a random stranger of the male persuasion who grabbed my camera and insisted on taking a picture with me in it. (I will take credit for doing the 'art directing' though, once I handed over the camera.)

This photo somehow captures the look and feel and spirit of the Burning Man experience -- for me (because Burning Man is so many different things to so many different people).

*I just got back from the playa --literally-- and I have hundreds of shots to sort through, so that might change...but for now... :)

It was definitely worth getting up for sunrise that morning. Thankfully I didn’t need to climb the 199 steps for this capture, we were staying at the YHA next to Whitby Abbey 😂 Not a chance in hell of managing those steps before lunch time!

Heading back to Whitby this weekend for a much needed week away. Managed to find a late booking still available, thankfully.

This will be my last post until we return, hopefully with some half decent images and in a better place, mentally. Thank you all for your support during a very difficult few months.

Happy Easter, dear friends. 🐑🐰❤️

Thanks for your visits, kind comments and faves, very much appreciated.

Winter has definitely arrived - although this is yet another capture from last year. We had sort of a blizzard today with at least 10 inches of snow - and guess what? It is snowing again. Hoping for some good light tomorrow and some sort of a footpath ;-). You all have a great weekend, may the good light be with you as well...

Thank you for stopping by, commenting and possibly faving ~ very much appreciated.

Because there is definitely something not looking right, and I can't put my finger on it yet !!!

A visit to The Midland Air Museum, which is just based outside Coventry and where there is a unique aeronautical collection of old military aircraft's. And it was rather cool to get inside and sit down in a Pilot's cockpit seat of an old military helicopter; I was amazed just how tight it was to get inside this cockpit and then amused with all the control panels in front of it me.

Just a bit of creative fun, with my fisheye lens here!

Many thanks for your cool comments and compliments from you here, my flickr friends !!!

Definitely an outtake because I out-took an annoying lamp post. I don't normally edit for content so initially disqualified this for Flickr, but what the heck, not much else going on and it's too cold for me to be outside. This was early November.

Wishing all a fine week ahead...

As we saw in Olympus, the Carpathians love bright colors. Here we find a house in which the blue of the sky and the sea were combined with the earth ocher - while the window frames remain in the classic white.

Menetes, Karpathos, Greece.

Definitely a highlight of our trip to Kenya. Seeing this mother and cub together was something that will stay with me forever.

The weather definitely took a turn for the cold and windy but nothing can stop Spring from springing forward. This was a beautiful bloom outside a doctors office, the window had a cool color and light reflecting from it so I included it in the composition. For those that may be curious no the blooms weren't this pink I split toned it in Lr. Thank you all for your kind support, enjoy your weekend.

Capturing natural elements is definitely not my .. strong point in photography. I really don't know what the right settings are so that something spectacular like the mist or a downpour gets captured correctly. However, when I see something impressive I am drawn to capture it. I took this photo from a winery at the shores of Lake Seneca in New York (on a previous post I explained that there are more than 70 wineries there). Quite amazing view to see while enjoying a good wine. It was summer, covid times so outdoor seating was the only option. Fortunately the winery had some large tents where most of the people found shelter. I am not a big fan of rain, as a matter of fact, I kinda hate it when I am shooting pictures as my equipment gets wet and water drops on the lens can ruin a picture, but in this case I didn't mind it. I feel it added a lot to the already beautiful scenery.

This view was definitely one of my highlights from the trip. The day started off very grey and when we arrived at Skógafoss it was raining a bit. As I mentioned in my earlier description it was crowded by the waterfall itself, but the further we walked, the less other tourists we saw. Then suddenly the sun started to shine gently between the low clouds, and revealed all the beauty of the curvy and hilly landscape. The temperature also rose and in October, in Iceland we were able to take off our coats, sit on the hillside with a cup of coffee and just enjoy the scenery in front of us, with the sound of the flowing water to make it even more intense. The first few days were amazing, but sometimes it felt like being in a hurry. No wonder with all the things we wanted to see and our busy schedule, but this was maybe the first time where I sat down and thought: "wow, this is Iceland and this is why we do it!"

Thanks for having a look! All faves and comments are highly appreciated!

I had definitely all kind of weather

I went out with a t shirt, it was 20°C

I noticed the dark clouds

And thought, well I'm waterproof

hehe

I was

It rained

Thunder and lightning

I continued my walk

Of course

I love weather

And I was rewarded with marvelous sun

Peeking out from the clouds

And when I came home this appeared

From the opposite side of where the sun was setting it was a glorious light

Definitely there should be a color with such title

I did stay a bit longer after the tour and one day we did a trip to Landmannalaugar. That is one of my favourite places to be.

The roads had just been opened the day before and more often than not it felt like sitting in a bumpy washboard and not like a bus ride..

There was still a lot of snow but walking over snowfields is definitely something I never did on the longest day of the year before :o)

Definitely autumnal this morning with mist along the river. A rather unfinished effort

This Gazania flower image is my submission for the Definitely Dreaming week 41 of 52 theme of "Patterns".

Definitely one of the most scenic beaches my wife and I have visited. Praia As Catedrais translates from gallego to "Beach of the Cathedrals'. It is the turistic name of Praia de Augas Santas ('Beach of the Holy Waters'). The Spanish beach is located in the Ribadeo municipality, in the province of Lugo (Galicia), on the Cantabric coast. It lies about ten kilometers west from the town of Ribadeo. Its name is derived from the formations of its cliffs.

It has been declared a Natural Monument by the regional Ministry for the Environment of the Xunta de Galic

on a boring business-trip, strandet at Frankfurt Airport,

Definitely in that order

definitely 'better looking' then the males.....cardinals are just a gorgeous bird and probably a little unappreciated by me since they are so common in our area.....

This little Brown Thornbill is my entry for the Definitely Dreaming theme of "Breakfast", don't ask me what he's having, some sort of squashed bug I think.

Definitely one of the more odd birds we saw during our time in South Africa. Wakkerstroom, Mpumalanga, South Africa

This view of the Melbourne skyline, Princes Bridge and the Yarra River is my submission for the Definitely Dreaming week 23 theme of "Night".

I shot this image in Michigan awhile ago, I don't know if I posted it before, being all my Flickr images disappeared one day. So...

Definitely a Soloist dancer.....

Enjoy the day and seize the moment!....in whatever manner that is good for you, my friends.....Pat

Definitely one of the most amazing birds in western Europe, not only because of the beautiful metallic sheen of its colourful and white-spangled plumage, but also because of the astonishing range of its melodic and mechanical-sounding sounds.

The final theme for the Definitely Dreaming 52 week group (which ended up being 53), was "The End of the Day".

One of the things I love at the end of the day while walking in Woodlands is the way the sun, low in the sky, catches the tree sap.

Definitely one of my favorite birds, not only because it is incredibly cute and very friendly, but also because it is a very caring and loving bird.

From the paridae family, (same as the chickadee) they have a very peculiar way of taking care of their young, usually with the help of one of their offsprings from the previous year. How do they decide who stays behind to help is simply fascinating to me!

If you want to know more about this bird, this site has very interesting facts:

www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/tufted-titmouse

And the look, it is the look of love for peanuts and sunflower seeds!

If you don’t know your cardinal from your titmouse, just remember this sound: " Peter, peter peter", and that will be your titmouse ;)

Photography is my passion, and nature photography is my favorite.

I have been in Explore for more that a hundred times, and it is an awesome experience to have your photos showcased in such a special way.

I'm in many groups, and I only add my photos to them if they are not private.

I thank your for coming today, for leaving a comment, and make a favorite of yours this photo, (if that is the case) thanks again!

The best part of this forum is the contacts and friends that I have made over the years, that have the same passion for this art that is called photography!

Martha,

Just the right angle at Babcock State Park - Clifftop, West Virginia.

It's definitely time to start those scary movie marathons.

Next two photos coming up, it was suggested they looked like possible stills from whatever movie this gang is watching. Stay tuned over the next few days to check 'em out, as well as my last few others for this month of daily photos. We're in the home stretch!

Spotted this cloud one early morning at the Leonsberg dock while waiting to go for a Guiana Dolphin research trip (www.greenfundsuriname.org/nl/dolphins) on the Suriname River. I almost missed it because I was watching a beautiful sunrise. Don't you think it looks like a jumping dolphin or two dolphins sticking their heads out of the water? Either way, I think it's definitely dolphin shaped!

Definitely feeling the magic while creating this illustration! Seniha Originals's Jumpsuit and Vest totally enhanced the magic spirit! The Jumpsuit and Vest are available exclusively at the Winter Trend Event between December 8th - 22nd. LM: maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Intangible/190/140/25
