One of the many houses along a road that goes along the beach (below).

These were charming, but rather simple houses, barely more than a shack. Which was a little surprising – so many other parts of New Zealand have upscale bungalows and apartments that must cost millions of dollars.

cover -- a vintage christmas '45 album that i found at my local thrift store (i got a couple at that time) - i mimicked the scallops from the label with paint marker on the record part, outlined it with black sharpie marker, sprinkled some martha stewart glitter into some glue, then layered on some scrapbook paper strips and vintage sheet music strips under the alphas/title

the big D is from a record album cover that i cut out and completed the words with some scrapbooking alphas, and played on the record/album thing with the typed "sub title" on white muslin

There is a hill in Tasmania that affords a nice view of the valley down below and the town of Hobart. This is a standard pilgrimage for all visitors.

We ended up here on the morning of a cloudy and overcast day with occasional rains, which was good and bad from a photography perspective. It cut down the visibility and clarity for distant viewing, but it also gave me saturated colors for the foreground and a muted background that nicely popped the foreground subject. So I ended up making the beautiful texture of the land my main subject.
