View of Wellington from Mount Victoria. After a mostly rainy day, we still did not have the best clarity and it was getting late in the day, but views were spectacular nonetheless.
All these are photos are shots of essentially the same urban landscape. Virtual Reality folks will probably love a scene like this!
Dunedin, New Zealand. This lighthouse on a hill is accessible by land only if you hike up the hill. We didn't have the time for it, so I could only shoot from a distance. Here are a couple of shots from land and a couple from our cruise ship. At the base of the hill is an albatross colony that's tough to get close to.
Quintessentially New Zealand, although I've seen some photos from the English country side that also look like this!

Not your everyday fish story! After the adult bald eagle caught the fish a young one came in and tried to take it away.
UK N. Somerset - Weston-super-Mare. Touchdown. A gull landing on water with its feet just touching the surface.
43rd & Michigan, one of my perennial favorites, and I can not pass it by without giving it another shot.
This is my "bright" photo, ironically, taken at night. I wanted to get a photo of one of the downtown church steeples silhouetted against the supermoon, but there was just no high enough ground that wasn't blocked by another building. Time was running out before the 5:19pm moonrise, so I instead headed to Marye's Heights outside downtown Fredericksburg. I was certain a park ranger would run me off since the cemetery atop the hill is officially closed after sunset, but instead, I found myself alone alone in the dark with thousands of civil war grave sites around me. As soon as the moon started cresting over the horizon, I noticed this tree not far away, so I positioned myself to get a good view of it. As soon as the moon was fully visible, the sky brightened considerably, enough to make the entire tree visible.
I went down to the river late this afternoon to make some images. I had packed up and was starting my walk home when I saw the moon through the trees growing on the river bank. The dusk light was turning blue from the pink it was earlier on the eastern horizon (opposite to the sunset).
