Beautiful coast with a gravel beach. A road runs along the beach, in front of the houses in the photo. Surprisingly, these were simple houses, not multimillion dollar luxury villas. Or maybe they cost multimillion dollars!

Jennifer Thompson is one of the senior people at the Zealandia ecosanctuary in Wellington, New Zealand. She was our guide during our visit to the place on a really wet and rainy day. Our group showed a lot of interest, and she obliged by giving us a lot of info and showing us around.

The Sydney Opera House early in the morning. We saw blue skies on two of the days during our 4-5 days at Sydney. Eventually, smoke from the tragic Sydney bush fires took over and totally changed the atmosphere.

Lydd-on-Sea is a modern village, mostly built after World War II, which consists mainly of bungalows built along the Dungeness coastal road south of Greatstone, Kent, England. The Southern Railway opened a railway station here in 1937 but was closed in 1967. Lydd-on-Sea is part of the ecclesiastical parish of Lydd, now several miles distant, which once had access to the sea.

An island in a lake (created by gravel extraction) slightly to the northwest of Lydd-on-Sea is the site of a collection of sound mirrors designed by Dr William Sansome Tucker, to detect the approach of enemy aircraft, in the years before radar had been developed.

In spite of an overcast day and mild rain, the bays at Picton were charming, with low clouds and lush greenery. This is either Bob's Bay or Shakespeare's Bay, or maybe both. But as Shakespeare would have no doubt agreed, a bay by any other name is still a bay.

For this image, I bumped up the WB a little to make it a little warmer... Just experimenting. It made the overall image more appealing, I think. But as shot, the clouds seem to pop more (e.g., below).

At a wildlife conservatory park in Cairns, Australia. This place was like a zoo, but much larger and much more open. The birds and animals here were captive, but the space was large enough that they lived in semi-freedom.

Most of the birds here are native to Australia, but they have a few immigrants as well. I have a list of all the birds, but I haven't had the time to look up and identify each bird by name. I'll get around to it when I have a free moment.

These is a Rainbow Lorikeet.

Perhaps the best close up of my Dec. 2022 redheaded May mask series. Certainly one of the bustiest.

I think this is a dandy close up. Wig, makeup, lashes really came together in this chance that I got to show off Paula.

The Sydney harbor is just a lovely place to hang around and walk at pretty much any time of the day.

One of the best ways to see the downtown area with all the city lights on is by taking one of the countless dinner cruises. We ended up being in Sydney on an overcast day with intermittent rains, but there were a few windows of opportunities to take some photos.

Here's a virtual cruise, all shot with a Leica 28mm Summilux-M, typically at f/5.6.
