thank you all!
Stokes Croft Scenes XI BTTL Photowalk. Another by Alex Lucas with the best name ever! www.lucas-antics.com/projects/dandy-lion It's a shame the messy kind of graffiti has gone on next to it but it is a brilliant doorway! I also like that the reflection shows the Think Local Boycott Tesco mural across the street.
Before a strong breeze sent the seeds from this mighty, much maligned dandelion group, I endeavored to take a family portrait of them this very afternoon in order to save the intricate loveliness of them for posterity. The definition "weed" is in the eye of the beholder, I've always thought, for I think that the dandelion's under-appreciated beauty outranks many a flower blossom, at the very least, many that I have seen in my comings and goings out and about in nature. I say long live the mighty fine dandelion, and to hell with manicured lawns! But that's just me.

AHA, but which is FINE and which is DANDY? LOL.
For the most part, carnations express love, fascination, and distinction.
I love the drama here created by the crinkly edges and all the frilly detail in those 'feathered' beauties... Antique?
It is the Carnation, very fragrant...
In the Victorian language of flowers, it symbolises gallantry.
Light red carnations represent admiration, while dark red denote deep love and affection.
Purple carnations indicate capriciousness. In France, it is a traditional funeral flower, given in condolence for the death of a loved one.
In France and Francophone cultures, carnations symbolise misfortune and bad luck.
Have a gentle day and thank you for viewing, Magda (*_*)

It is that fleeting time of the year when one has to run out in the morning and photograph those wonderful little dandelions as they prepare to disperse their seeds.
I find them beautiful and so many find them annoying.
Enjoy the dewdrops and dandys.
Beautiful dandelion (Taraxacum officinale), in full bloom, the flower head composed of numerous small florets. This dreaded weed can be so beautiful ... beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.
The name dandelion comes from the French, dents de lion, which means “teeth of the lion,” and refers to the jagged edges on the leaves of the dandelion plant. (Source Naturewatch.ca)
I'm not really sure what made me think of doing this. I suppose I have been so struck with the sheer number of dandelion heads on the road side verges and in the fields I pass on my way down country lanes on my way to and from work that they just went into a huge melting pot of other thoughts that are in my head as I drive along on my own.
It was easy to find nice fluffy ones in the earlier part of the week but by yesterday I found many had lost their heads or become more ragged mop tops due to some heavy rain showers in recent days. It was a case of hair today, gone tomorrow. Never mind.
Anyhow, a bit of fun and it's different
